Malicious Sorcery half-functional?
I tried it yesterday and it was definitely working fine.
By the way, if what you’re comparing is the clone spawn rate, they tweaked it so it stays the same, even though you’re attacking faster.
Yeah, I know they adjusted the timing on the final attack so that it fires faster but has a longer aftercast. That part’s working fine, and it does make the scepter feel better.
What I mean is that Malicious Sorcery, the #9 Grandmaster trait in Illusions, doesn’t seem to be functioning completely. The 20% cooldown works fine, but the 15% increased attack speed for scepter doesn’t look to be happening. I’ve gone after folks with and without the trait equipped, back-to-back, and I swear I swung faster with MS off than I did with it on. Not much faster, but still faster. I certainly wasn’t seeing the significant increase in swing speed I would expect from a *1.15 attack rate.
I don’t know if this fell through the cracks somewhere or if I’m just insane, though.
Must be a bug, then. I was definitely attacking faster with it yesterday. Plus, it’s really obvious when you use your #3 skill, so there’s no way you’re not noticing it.
Yeah, it’s weird. Confuze Beam definitely seems to be burning faster, but the AA chain doesn’t seem to be gaining benefits from Malicious Sorcery. And clearly nobody cares about attack speed on a block.
I’unno. I suppose I’ll submit a bug report on it for ArenaNet to ignore. Hrmphf…stinkeths mightily.
Why would confuse beam go any faster, the talent doesnt affect it’s cast time at all in the tooltip. Or am I missing something
Malicious sorcery does not work for attack speed. This is a known bug, and has not been fixed yet.
@Axel: Confusing images got buffed to have a much higher attack speed. Malicious sorcery has no effect on it.
Additionally, you’re completely wrong with how the attack speed on the trait should work. You’re confusing things mightily.
They tweaked how the clone is summoned with the third attack of the chain. This tweak is designed to make it feel better, but will not increase the rate of clone spawning.
With the trait, every attack on the weapon is supposed to execute 15% faster. Obviously, this will cause you to spawn clones 15% faster.
