Mantra healing support Build?
I’ve run this build before, it’s not half that bad and it a good team support setup.
You need full healing gear however, I’d suggest a mix of Cleric’s and Magi stats gear (you’ll have a decent amount of damage too).
Your main healing mantra will be Mantra of Pain with its 1 second cooldown, you can also run Rune of The Flock/The Water to give your Mantra of healing an AoE heal as well.
imo the only thing that holds back this build is the 5 player limit on heals. Unfortunately the game loves to heal your clones and phantasms instead of the rest of the team in many occaisions, so you might not heal the player that needs it most if your clones are all up.

I have as well… I wasn’t a fan of how you basically do 0 damage since you’re doing nothing other than recharging your mantras all the time : / Other classes can still damage/do more support while using heals vs. the mantra heal specs

At least the healing prioritizes players made this a lot better. Sure you’re spending your time healing, but if you’re perma-healing, then your party is having some issues with the fight at hand regardless.
And most classes have a low amount of sustained healing and usually some burst healing, e.g. warrior shouts. Sure it’s awesome, but those shouts do have cds. Mesmers at least can pump out a fairly reliable aoe heal every 5-6 seconds, if you don’t get interrupted or something.
I personally like the build and switch between that and condition bunker depending on what I want to do.
I have a Cleric’s/Magi’s mix w/ RUne of the Water and toying around with Sigil of Water. I enjoy it.

That’s fairly true about the healing… but if your team is taking that much damage to where they need constant heals and swapping to dmg/other support isn’t better… then they’re doing something wrong…

I just recently tried this out in fractals. And I will say that it was bad. for 2 reasons. The first is the range of the aoe heal is fairly small, maybe 8 feet, which isn’t enough when your party is dodging everywhere. second issue is the fact that you either have to run harmonous mantras, or 4 mantras so that you have a decent string. it made it difficult because i’d always be interrupted while channeling, and since mesmer has no stability, it wasn’t working.
I’d say for future patches to make the radius a bit bigger, and hope for a stability skill.

I just recently started experimenting on my mesmer, and started using a 30/20/0/20/0 build centered around power and mantra support.
I took the grand master trait that adds a charge to mantras along with the standard mender’s purity and resotrative mantra’s talent.
I then slotted mantra of pain and mantra of restoration (restoration beats ether feast with this talent by a MILE).
Granted, this is NOT a “faux-trifecta” spec where you just spam heals, but what it does is add survivability through healing which also benefits the group.
Specifically, it’s something to use while running around trying to evade aoe or while “regrouping” in explorable modes when you wouldn’t be doing damage anyway, and when you get back into the action, you have a fully charged mantra of pain to unload on the boss.
it’s definitely a “jack of all trades master of none” spec, but seems to me a sensible tradeoff if you want to add survivability and group utility with minimal damage per minute cost.
so you might not heal the player that needs it most if your clones are all up
Except in most cases in which the party NEEDs the heals, your clones are long dead anyway.

I didn’t really like going into power for the triple mantra…except that granted, Mantra of Resolve and Mantra of Restoration are very very good with it. Just a playstyle choice. Went 0/20/15/30/5 if I recall. Phantasmal Regeneration + Illusionary Membrane got a lot better since the patch. Runes of Dwayna are also a possible synergy with this.
Mantra of Pain, Resolve, and Restoration is all I use usually, Concentration is situational. Resolve/Restoration for healing and condition removal and alternating those w/ Mantra of pain lets you perma channel while using the current Mantra’s stacks during the next Mantra’s channel…if your party really needs perma healing. I also like Mirror just cause it’s a low CD heal that proc’s Rune of Water and more reflection is fun.
Problems I see with the heal build thing:
No real burst healing, so if a boss/3 Nightmare Knights spike someone, odds are they’re downed before your heal is off. What I wouldn’t give for a 1 sec off channel time trait.
Range could stand to be better, I think it’s like 600 at the moment. The restorative mantras bugs sometimes and doesn’t heal at all as well.
Again, interrupts ruin your day…but hey! Mantra of Concentration isn’t bad for those times.
It’s not exactly the greatest build, but with the heals + sigil of Water/Runes of Water being a sort of “burst” heal for when you need it and your traited focus giving you tons upon tons of reflection, you support pretty well in my opinion. I just like the playstyle, even if mashing 1 button is my pro healz. I’m fairly tanky as well w/ Magi’s/Cleric’s + Phantasmal REgeneration/ILlusionary Membrane and all the other tools a Mesmer has to live.
Edit: I thought Sigil of Water did the same heal as the rune. It does 33% of that. Blahhh.
