Mantra of Recovery
-Harmonious Mantras
Yes, MoRecovery gets 3 uses per Charge.
-Protected Mantras
Yes, MoRecovery increases armor while charging.
-Mender’s Purity
Yes, MoRecovery clears a condition per use (But NOT when its charged).
-Restorative Mantras
Yes, MoRecovery heals you and nearby allies when charged (though not when used).
- (Death, Terry Pratchett, Hogfather)
I recommend the later two if you actually plan on using HealingMantra.
Harmonious Mantras just consumes too many points into the first tree. And Protected Mantras is just … too weak (200~300 def while casting).
And for additional synergy, there’re
- Empowering Mantras
+4% damage per charged mantra
- Mantra Mastery
Mantras recharge 20% faster.
I just experimented with mantras the other day and found they essentially suck for pve and dungeon running, for the following reasons:
1) Loss of 1/2 my condition damage, resulting in losing dps in dungeons.
2) Full on mantra spec is counter productive since you cannot prepare the mantras in parallel but consecutively and you cannot cast another spell while prepping a mantra. This really lowers your effectiveness.
3) Restorative mantra AOE range is so limited that you have to be up front with melee which does not work well in dungeons. Also, its 2.5k amount is too meeker, even with the spec for 3 cast given the downtime for the next set.
“2) Full on mantra spec is counter productive since you cannot prepare the mantras in parallel but consecutively and you cannot cast another spell while prepping a mantra. This really lowers your effectiveness.”
Not true, you can use 2 staff skills and any of your other mantras that are stored while channeling.
My take is that mantra builds are extremely situational, and thus you should not be utilizing them under certain circumstances unless you are to provide optimal support to your team, assuming you run in a group. For soloing, it is not recommended at all.
In my case, I run a mix between direct dps + survival + shatters/mantras and I switch according to what I need.
There’s the sPVP build I came up with.
It’s main focus is to make you extremely hard to kill via healing a lot constantly on a low cooldown and condition removal as you widdle them down with Phantasms and your Greatword/Mainhand Sword.
I found a good combo to do is to stun with Pistol’s 5 to allow you guaranteed hits with MH sword 2 since it forces you to stand in place (which is stupid).
I’ve only played one match so far with this build. But overall I did amazing. I wouldn’t die and I wrecked havoc on 1v1’s and 1v2s even.
To make a PvE version of this build:
Swap blink out for Mantra of Pain which is good with restorative mantras for group healing since theres no CD for it.
and swap out anything else to your discretion.

update: tried it a bit more on a map that was just me and two people.
I easily 1v2’d an engineer and necromancer consistently without dying.
