I’ve always found it incredibly frustrating how slow and difficult it can be traversing the world of Tyria as a mesmer until I noticed this neat little trick:

Mantra of Recovery + Superior Runes of the Centaur = Infinite Swiftness

Sure, it’s not exactly practical for any other purpose, but I felt it was useful enough to leave it here in case anyone did not know about how well the mantra synergies with these runes.

Explanation:

-Swiftness gained through the Centaur runes will last ten seconds.
-Mantra of Recovery will proc this effect three times: 30 seconds total.
-Charging the Mantra, in addition to the use of both charges will cause swiftness
-Mantra of Recovery also has a very convenient cool-down of ten seconds making it ideal for this setup.

Pros:

Gives infinite TEAM swiftness that can also be passed on with our sigil of inspiration.

Cons:

Probably more than I can count.

Well known method of achieving perma-swiftness. Get a little boon duration and its even easier as you will keep stacking it.

But of course, its also boring as all kitten to keep popping your heal on every cooldown.

That’s why most of us run Travelers instead.

Cheap mans method is of course running with focus (and preferably some heavy duration bonuses)

Yeah, since travelers (and speed runes) do flat 25%, there’s not much point in that method of wasting heals to proc swiftness anymore.

Toshere.1732:

Infinite TEAM swiftness can also be passed on with sigil of inspiration.

It is a very inexpensive way to have speed constantly, but you don’t need sigil of inspiration to share the speed buff with others. If people are nearby when you heal, they will get the speed buff.

You can set the mantra to auto cast so it will constantly refresh itself.

Use a quaggan tonic.

You don’t have to waste using your mantra heal – just use any tonic like an exotic Cold Potion for example. The #6 ability to un-transform is the same as the #6 heal so you get swiftness without wasting a heal.

Add boon duration and you can maintain 100% swiftness with centaur runes.

mirror + centaur rune is very good combo even in wvw. It screws up rangers to no end you just have to get use to pop heal all the time.

Why not executioner axe? Hold down number 2 to charge crazy far. Press 6 to cancel uppercut and gain swiftness. Repeat. Granted the item isn’t for sale anymore.
