Max Confusion Duration
Check your f2 skill, i bet it only lasts for 5 seconds. Let me know how long your CoF lasts
It appears that the trait “Master of Misdirection” (illusion trait 5) isn’t working. It is supposed to add 33% duration to confusion you inflict; however it adds nothing. Can anyone else confirm?
I’l have to take a look.
I can confirm that it is working. Turns my sceptre 3 from 4 seconds to 6.
Hmmm, for me it had no effect on Scepter 3 or f2. I’ll post pics tomorrow.

it’s working , but it isn’t showed on tooltip.
But it don’t work if you have already condition duration for 9 sec imho.
“Master of Misdirection” works. I don’t know if it’s properly shown in the tooltips, but I can tell the difference in combat.
Keep in mind that “9 secs” on the mob could actually be 10 seconds flat.
I’m wondering if condition duration might cap at +100%, and that’s the issue you are seeing.
Necromancers have a similar issue with the Hemophilia trait (+20% bleed duration). 20 points in the necromancer spite trait line grants +20% condition duration, however, having both 20 spite and Hemophilia does not grant +40% bleed duration. It remains at +20%, making it pointless to have them both for extending bleeds.
It could be that Master of Misdirection (+33% confusion duration) is not stacking with 20 points in domination, only taking the higher of the two values.
Of course, I could be completly wrong in all this. This is just from my own observation.
Keep in mind that “9 secs” on the mob could actually be 10 seconds flat.
yep correct. 9 sec on screen are probably 10 sec.
but it’s the line that is impossible to cross.
if you add more condition duration you haven’t more confusion sec
Do you mind testing this with Cry of Frustration.
If you can’t break a 6 second duration (5 secs on the icon) then the issue is that you can’t increase a conditions duration past +100%, and not that confusion is arbitrarily capped at 10 secs (though for all intents and purposes it currently would be since there isn’t any form of confusion that a player can inflict that has a base duration of more then 5 seconds).
Test what exactly?
It’s true that the tooltips do not update.
Also the +33% was effecting cry.
Testing whether you can break a 6 second duration with Cry of Frustration.
If you can then…no idea what the issue is.
If you can’t then it’s likely that there’s a condition duration cap in place.
I actually have on my mesmer giver’s scepter and giver’s torch (+20% condition duraion), +30% thanks to domination, +10% with Superior Rune of Lyssa and +10% with Superior Rune of Nightmare.
Adding to that +33% confusion duration with Master of Misdirection
So we have 103% on confusion duration. We eat a rare veggie pizza to obtain +40% condition duration = 143%
Confusing Images = 5s with the boons on condition duration , we reach 12,15 s but we stack at 9s

Givers doesn’t affect Condition Duration even though it affects the hero panel. Unless they patched it this patch (I glanced, didn’t full on read the notes), it’s still bugged.
Your total should be 11.15s. The tooltip will show 10s, but if you take longer than one second to mouse over it, it will show up as 9. Make a video and do a step by step count to see a close representation of its’ duration.
The bug seems to be corrected since yesterday.
I’ll try to make a step by step tonight.
Keep in mind that “9 secs” on the mob could actually be 10 seconds flat.

Yeah on the wiki condition duration page someone states there is a 76% duration cap but then someone refutes saying 100% is the cap. There is also discussion on class specific duration scenarios. Bottom line though is, it seems one can’t go over 100% condition duration so it’s best not to gear up for that.
