Medic’s Feedback: Increased the duration of the feedback bubble created by this trait to match the actual duration of the Feedback skill.

This is an awesome buff if you ask me! I am using this trait since I started playing phantasm mesmer. What the buff really did: It increased the feedback duration on heal from 3 to 6 sec. It has an internal CD of 10 sec. This trait is awesome really. It will allways happen that there is someone get downed or just use the next NPC that just died. Just start ressing them procs the effect for the full duration even if you cancel the healing. I think it’s very underrated since everyone thinks “ha, in my party noone will ever get downed!”. Well, I made the expirience that it safed my kitten like a hundred times … every minute

What do you think about this trait?

Yes, the skill has always been a hidden ace. But it’s still too situational, you need an ally downed and ranged opponents. And the inspiration line is the one with the best traits, you don’t want to miss …

So general support > situational super support

It’s not like its a low trait that can be changed any time you want to. You don’t have to retrait so if I see “oh I’m at wall fractale” I’m gonna use more HP on phantasms or condition remove on heal or something like this. And if I see “oh it’s the harpy/grawl/mole/… fractale” I’m gonna use this trait.

But to be honest – 80% of the entire game is about projectiles and therefore about reflection for a mesmer. There is rarely a place without shooting enemies.

It will happen that somone is downed or you can “corpse abuse” the NPC :P

I love the trait.
You can reflet 60% of the time with this trait just rezzing (only hit rezz not continue) a npc who’s dead. Also nice fighting giganticus lupicus in range when you need to rezz someone you’re save from his shots/aoes.

I use it in fire shaman fractal in higher levels. Afterwards I just switch it off.

When I run with Zergs in WvW or when I’m doing GvG I always take it. Having another source of feedback bubbles is great as there is always someone who drops at the beginning of the battle.

I used to run medic’s feedback (still do if needed), along with a full reflection build (It’s on this forum somewhere…). Basically, if you pair up medic’s feedback with runes of mercy, you can heal people up almost within the duration of the feedback bubble, allowing you to rez allies in combat without taking any range damage. This build was incredibly powerful in WvW before all the AoE condition spamming began, since those mostly aren’t affected by reflections (i.e. necro marks).

If you pair this up with a normal feedback, focus reflects and distortion, you can keep reflects up a long time during combat. Plus if you use the other inspiration traits you can use the medics feedback more often (if you’re in a WvW zerg, proccing it off a fallen ally is actually really helpful, even if you don’t really rez the ally).

Hands down one of my favorite traits. Blinking to allies the instant they go down and rezzing in the relative safety of a Feedback bubble has saved my fractal groups from wipes countless times, and this just makes it even more awesome.

And yeah, in dungeons the NPC is down most of the time anyway, just tapping revive for a split second gets you a free Feedback at no cost.

Sorry for the dumb question, but did I miss a change of feedback,
wasn`t it only reflecting projectiles that were launched INSIDE the bubble?

Nope, anything that crosses the bubble zone gets reflected, whether it originated inside our out doesn’t matter.

Often times players will only have 20 or 25 points into inspiration, keeping in mind that the whole traitline wont “buff” your damage past 25 points.
Granted you are in that situation there are better alternatives to take. For one Wardens Feedback, which is simply better in a situation where you might need reflections (2 on demand reflections vs 1 ). Also -20% cd on glamour skills will allow you to place a regular feedback more often aswell, which may actually prevent you from needing medic’s feedback in the first place.

To have 20 is stupid because you need 25 for the +15% dmg on phantasms normally – then you better go 30 for more utility and reflection because normally no other ?5 trait will grant you so much power. But it depends on build as allways. And on your own playstyle.

Right now I’m playing full Mantra build – awesome dmg but I’m missing feedback on heal, cdr on glamour and focus reflection

I can get 15% dmg on phantasms in domination too, AND 100power (and some other kittenty stat). Of course the groups I often run with have no need for stuff like mantra heals, feedbackbubbles on rez or extra condition remove apart from smth like nullfield.
It is NOT stupid to not put 10 points more into a traitline that wont benefit me at all, on the other hand it is quite smart to have some extra power to boost up the damage of my phantasms, since not every boss has real stuff to reflect.

You can get 15% damage or 32.25%? Hmm… I’ve already decided. 100 Power are approximately equal to 3.3-4.2% damage (2400-3000 power on char)… So actually you can get 4.2% damage for your own (best case) and 1.196% damage for your phantasms instead of 0% for you and 32.25% for your phantasms?

As if you got phantasms out there… (m=mesmer / p=phantasm)
1.04m + 1.20p = 1.00m + 1.32p
0.04m + 1.20p = 1.32p
0.04m = 0.12p
1m = 3p

So… Aslong as you won’t deal 3 times as much damage as your phantasm for each phantasm out there (up to 9 times as much damage as your phantasms). – yes it actually IS not so clever :P

Your groups dont “need” more feedbackbubbles, more reflection etc? Well they also don’t “need” you to deal more damage – they don’t “need” high equip, they don’t “need” to be different classes. BUT IT HELPS -.-’’

Could you explain how you got to 32.25%? I’ve read this thread and don’t seem to follow where the extra 17.25% is coming from.

15% from dominon 10 and 15% from inspiration 25. And yes it has been confirmed about a hundred times, it will be calculated like this:
-> 1.15 * 1.15 = 1.3225
Damage multiplier will be calculated multiplicative. Thats why I made the 4.2% + 15% to 20%
-> 1.042 * 1.15 = 1.1983

You are taking both traits, however then you can NOT take empowering mantras and compounding power (that would be at least 10/30/0/25/10 =75 skillpoints needed) so I would have to cut either 12% more damage for me (and exspecially my feedback which can be a big source of damage at certain enokitteners….) or 9% damage.
Even though phantasms deliver some extra damage, they still die pretty fast. Having 3 phantasms up also needs at least 16 seconds, and then you will not have 3x your “best” phantasms (swordsman in that case) but 2 different types- or 3 if you are very crafty with your summoning ….
For the calculation, if I miss out on the 9% damage:
1.13m + 1,2p =1m +1,32p
0,13m =0,12p
m=0,9p
A mesmer deals ~2x as much damage as a swordsman (no boni on either side) . (4,5-5k phantasm hit vs 2x(1,4k,1,4k 2,5k))
As I’ve already said, phantasms do not alway survive, and the damage I was comparing to was already the damage of the highest dps phantasms.

I cannot utilize Medics Feedback because noone gets downed when I could use another. We do not need more condition remove because the bosses are dead before the usual skills run out. If I deal more damage the boss will die faster, this way we wont need more support, SO I’M HELPING TOO.

When you calculate with constant 9% you’d better take at least 2 phantasms and your impact goes down rapidly.
However IF you go for mantras you’ll gonna outdmg your phantasms immediately. And what I see is that you’re right, the damage is really about the same :o However you trait for damage and I trait for support and we still do the same damage tough.

I don’t need Phantasms to trigger the bonus, I just need illusions, clones included. It is easier to create clones, since i can get clones on dodge and iLeap.
Your damage output without reflections may be about the same, once I get to feedback stuff (GL in particular) I will deal a lot more damage compared to you. Of course, if I’m not in such a situation (dungeons with less focus on projectile reflection) a phantasm build would be better. But because i do not want to respec accoring to each dungeon I rather take a build where I can excel at places where mesmer is strong at (since i can choose what class I want to play a dungeon with I wont run mesmer where mesmers are not that useful in the first place).

And to make a post OT: Even tough feedback often times is a really strong ability, its strength comes with the correct use. Have you seen mesmers spaming their feedback on enemies even though they are not using projectile attacks in the first place? Well thats good support, isn’kitten I have to admit that of all the “get x while rezzing” Medics feedback may be one of the strongest, but again, often times you can not utilize the feedback because there is nothing to reflect. (In terms of the groups i run with, most of the time if someone gets downed it is during/after Lupis aoe and in melee range. His single target projectile wont hit in melee anways, no need for medics feedback. I don’t need it for other bosses since I can already get up to something like 30 sec of almost 100% reflect uptime, so the bosses can not even kill anyone.

Eh, I use Feedback on trash mobs that don’t have projectiles for the Chaos Armor finishers. It has one of the lowest cooldowns for an Ethereal Field. (Sure, I can swap it for Null Field, but then I’d be swapping in between every fight.)

Well agony i guess it all depends on the situation. In the end it just reflects our playstyle and i guess both builds are more than viable. Fot the expirience sake I’m gonna try yours too.
