Cos lets face it, we all had some epic face palm funny moments playing our mesmer why dont we share them??

My first was on early lvls…. i was like “Cool! i have all 3 clones! Now which one is my real char?” Had to start moving and jumping to identify myself from my clones, was hilarious.

Second one…. recently ( yeah i know, very “doh!” :P) i was completing a mid lvl map, all alone and then suddenly i see a guildie! Yay! I was so happy! Of course 2 secs later i found out it was my clone… again lol I felt so stupid but it was so much fun!

So what “Doh!” moments you had??

Hmm well its so so many, but one of the worst for me. I had a few cider and its friday, whole guild is ready to portal bomb the enemy, they stand ready to jump a portal, i kinda messes the entrance portal up thu…

Lol osi! You made me remember another….. I was in arah and ppl wanted me to port them across the dungeon to skip mobs, so i said, sure, im a mes, im awesome blah blah blah…. So i get my stealths skills, plant portal entry and start runing…. and I die. SO i reapet it and again i die, like 4 more times. So then I finally made it! I crossed half dungeon, got to a perfect spot for portal and Yay! I didnt casted the entry!

So in conclusion… i had to die like 4 more times trying to o it again :P

I made a portal to bring ppl to the end of the jump puzzle… Well I put it a bit close to the edge and watched as everyone entered it, then dropped down to their deaths..

Also once I tried to res my own clone, and many times someone else has tried to res my clone while I’m screaming “I’m over here!! the one with the arrrow!!”.

We had a large group of invaders following us one night, so I drop a portal, run to the top of the keep stairs, then drop the exit portal, and lay down my superior siege…

“We’ve got ’em now, men! We will hold them at this choke point” I cry as everyone portals to me, and begins dumping supply into my siege. As the enemy approaches the top of the stairs, I turn to see my newly built…. flame ram.

I manage to get out a “….oh kitten” before I am trampled, and my screen is flooded with invader laughter.

CoF path 1 boulders part – made the exit portal a tad too early and everyone was crushed by boulders upon exit. oops!

I always swap portal with feedback when running past dungeon mobs. Of course I always forget to swap it back when facing bosses. I’ve been revived over many portals.

And for some strange reason, there’s always a teammate wham stands in the closed portal, waiting for it to open up.

Hiding in durios for a while, 20man zerg gathers and waits in the water and then I jump forgetting to first put down the portal. Happens to me more often than I care to admit :p

Thus far I seem to have a bad habit of pulling a lot of aggro on my Mes, because I end up targetting enemies outside the battle.

While searching for those hiding mesmers inside a keep, you are so thrilled when you find one, you walk upthere trying to flush him out.
Next thing you know you’re lying dead at the bottom of the cliff realizing you should have known about that GS #5.

Oh! Oh! I have one of those!

Well… Technically speaking it was a “doh” moment to my guildies. For me it was a “wtf?” with a loud laugh through the TS3.

We where doing a dungueon, dont remember right now which one but i have the feeling it was CoF. Before finishing the combat we where engaged in I went downed. After dying one of the enemies i got up, but in case i spawned a clone in downed to protect myself.

After the battle, i saw my guildies trying to raise my clone frome the dead while i heard:

-“lets raise the mesmer up to continue”-

I was like:

-“uh…. Guys…? I am over here…?”- I trolled my own team xD

Fighting a tough veteran and his buddies in PvE with an engineer. I formed a portal to escape if we got into trouble. We overaggroed and fled and he downed on conditions on the other side of the portal. I went up to revive him, hit F… right in the middle of about 6 heavy hitters with only a sliver of health left. Not pretty…

I love my focus. Dragging people off of walls and over cliffs (especially over cliffs) is a secret pleasure. Well, we were fighting a battle at the east keep land bridge and I saw an opportunity to drag a few enemy’s over the edge. I got up close, set my target, grabbed three and sent them to their death into the ravine below. I then started to laugh, well….. because it’s fun. I stopped laughing as I was dragged over the edge falling on top of, and joining, my unsuspecting victims. Turnabout is fair play.

every once in a while i past one of those boss events. sometimes i try to kill it on my own, if i see it’s too hard, i use decoy and get the kitten out of there. then i see the green point on my minimap, and think: “that must be another fellow trying to kill the boss!” then i go back to help my good mate, only to see i’m alone, with low health from the first try, against a boss i can’t kill with decoy on CD.
gets me every time.

I was running SE story mode when we decided to clear the surrounding ledges in large room with the army of dredges in the middle. One Staff 2 later and… D’oh, teleported down into the party.

Successfully hiding in enemy keep after they captured it, then I made portal to get allies in, but sadly I placed my portal at wrong place so exit was out of range

Gearing “Doh!” Moment.

Finally break down and get a Berserker armor set + Ruby Orbs (and transmute it into the Sailor Scout look just because =P). Equip everything and see the difference in stats from my Rampager’s armor set + 6x Scholar Runes and get …

+40 Power
-7 Precision
+20% Crit Dmg
-10% Dmg when HP > 90%
-214 Condition Dmg.

I honestly started banging my head against the desk seeing how little changed. Sure, +20% Crit Dmg was nice but it wasn’t the big “HULK SMASH!” change I was expecting.

Stupid expectations vs. reality always gets me.

“Doh!” Moment #2
In Melchor’s Leap, there is a Champion Golem boss (Ranged Type) that I love to solo kill whenever I see him up.
One day in the area, I spotted him and immediately jump in and start combat …
Belatedly I realized that I didn’t have my Focus in the off-hand, nor Feedback or Mimic in the Utilities.
I swore the Golem was laughing at me as I ran away to escape him to fix that.

“Doh!” #3 – Underground Fractal.
In the Mining Door path (using Mining Guns to tear down the door), I repeatedly run into this Doh! moment.
All the Dredge pops up and starts attacking the group, and I start slinging clones/phantasms/glamours around like mad. Its only AFTER the fact, do I realize that suddenly I’m alone in the middle of a Dredge Army as everyone else in the group backed up.
Thats gotten so common, that I’ve started learning how to escape what used to be certain death.
I just never notice, as I keep spotting my own Clones and think my allies are still there with ME!

WvW, we just lost a keep. I thought ‘well…being a mesmer maybe I can hide and then portal ppl back to regain it’. I got behind some wall and waited patiently for the Reds to finish sweeping. When thet were running past me, I just put Mass Invisibility to make sure they wouldn’t see me. It worked. Feeling proud of myself and secretly hoping for a whisper congrats from our Commander, I decided to make sure I stayed invisible by casting Decoy… Well, the Reds were quite surprised when my illusion charged at them.

Lol, this end up being even more funny than i expected!
Ill have to admit, i did most of thse things myself also…. lol felt so stupid and lughthed so hard at the same time. But so far @Zirael, ive never done that and its for sure my fav “Doh!” moment for now

Keep em coming, ill sure make some new weird things sooner or later to share also.
Lets be honest, mesmers fool the enemy, fool theyr friends and some times we even fool ourselfs

CM path1. Decided to play legit for once as I was showing a few newbies the ropes. We had just defeated the female boss and was staring at the huge mob of silvers. I tell my group to wait and swap feedback for portal. Then I lay down a portal, mass invis, toss out a temporal curtain and run to the right side. Sadly the group was bigger than I thought as I popped back into focus smack dab in the middle of them.

What happened next was truly epic.

On reflex I aim halfway up the ramp and blink and then I burn my first dodge. I know I had over 20 on me because I instantly got my daily dodger achievement from that alone! I didn’t have time to celebrate that small victory as the enemy in front of me takes a cheap shot. Ugh! Now I’m in combat and crippled, moving slow as molasses! The With the angry mob making clear reload sounds, I dodge again. Some of my life is cut but I’m still sitting pretty. A quick null field returns my mobility but I’m still too slow. I know I’m not going to make it unless I think fast. Stray bullets are ticking away at my health, I get crippled again but I can see where I need to go. Half the floor is clear because they’re chasing me up the ramp. I just need to jump down and head for the exit. There are two snipers with push back abilities ready to deny me but they are no problem! I’ll just use feedback to give them a taste of their own medicine!

Ora? Where did that portal come from?

Oh hell! I forgot I had that set!

And it’s lighting up! My team! Oh shi-…!

I was knocked back into the middle of the angry mob which made short work of my befuddled teammates soon after.

Six months and I still haven’t learned…

I have jumping problems. Anything that requires a portal to a place that is hard to get to will never happen :S

My worst “doh” moment was while doing WvWvW with my guild, i was hiding in a keep that other server just conquered, i told our zerg that i was in the keep.
hey came to the keep, expecting to be portaled in, but i accidentally used my portal before finding a good place to jump down, so i panicked, went to the closest cliff i could find thinking that with my -50% fall dmg reduction, i would survive.
I ended up falling dead in front of our zerg, laughing my as off and being extremely embarrassed.

Does writing “Mermer” instead of “Mesmer” in the title count as a “Doh” moment? ;3

Here is the scenario for my worste Mesmer moment as it plays out in wvw every couple days. I see a nice opportunity to do some damage to the flank of the enemy zerg. I run in and drop temporal curtain and instantly pull 5 invaders right where I want em. I drop the warden and null field on em. Hit Illusionary leap then dodge roll and aoe immobilize with swap. I’ve got three illusions out, warden is swinging, I’ve got the element of surprise for an aoe, criting, bleeding, confusing, mind wracking cluster bomb! Just as I hit blurred frenzy and as the warden starts ramping up his swings, another Mesmer shows up to help! At which time he immediately uses great sword 5 to knock my neatly gathered foes half way across the battlefield an out of range of my flailing asuran arms. Doh!

I hatehate when this happens. And it’s not just other mesmers, but other classes with knock backs too -.-

nothing makes me more angry when in an event people use pushbacks and blowouts in the middle of a mob and im not even an elementalist lol.

My kitten moment….running a mantra build, rushing headlong into a fight and trying to use them only to hear “Agony, Torment, Pain!” and then trying to cancel only to end up dead.

Attackers attacking the side wall of Cliffside with cata’s.. I run up to bring the pain, GS Mesmer is ready for me and Gs-5’s me right off the cliff. WELL I was using the Mirrored Anquish trait, so he also went flying right off the cliff. I’m sure he was laughing as hard as I was as we lead dead down below 10 feet away from each other..

I am not really good at jp puzzle, but i finally made it up to the eb jp.well when i wanted to portal people up I hit that 1 rock instead of the water…

AC Path 2.. at the end where Detha is putting up the turrets, I either staff #2 or illusionary leap into the turret, get stuck.. no blink on my utility bar, Can’t waypoint out due to having mobs of elementals trying to get to me. rest of the team dead, unable to revive at a waypoint due to the new way it works. and none of the enemies could hurt me, even with the AoE they drop. . .

Doh and omfg i hate this game at the moment, that one.

When leading groups some of my common orders issues include

“To Spawn”
and
“Take Portal”

Well one night (I may have had a drink or two) I yelled out to our 20 man group “Sportal, sportal!!!”

I am now reminded on a daily basis when I issue a to spawn or take portal, by hearing one or two guildies immidiatly say “sportal”. :O
