Since lots of people continue to ask me what i play in pvp, I will share it in forum.

I have a lot of pvp match as Mesmer, I played countless build. So i decided to do something good for the Dev of gw2. I chose to use the considered as useless PVP trait and make a build.

You will meet people insulting you at match begin, calling you PU. You’ll get insulted for using MOA. You’ll get insulted for using a totally different build from other people and using 2 signet.

But this build is quite useful, and somehow unique

After sharing the build with other people i began to see more and more people with Signet as mesmer.

I join 2 videos for you to see what you can and you can not do. (i could choose easy win videos but i didn’t). You can also see how you can get insulted.

Where is that feedback coming from?

Well there’s nothing inherently wrong with the build. Menders Purity is a waste on signit of ether with its 35s cd. You’re better off taking something else and just not getting hit with conditions to begin with. But whatever, if you like it you like it, no real harm in the build as it is.

There are a lot of mesmers out there running fringe builds. Some of those mesmers are better than others, some of those builds are better than others. I’ve been impressed on the odd occasion. That said, I’m often far more unimpressed with the shatter mesmers I see out there, and apparently that’s “meta”.

video4 —>the last fight was not to kill, but i had to stand on point for them not to decap, even if it means death.

Video5 —>;this guard was so funny, look at his position all the match, even running away. ( he can not even count….). And he called us noob while me and the ranger were fighting 3 people.
Well i did play kitten, while eating and listening to my wife.
Video6 —> heavy lost…..

For wvw, I varied my 0 2 6 0 6 build to 0 2 0 6 6 with Shattered Conditions. As explained, my play style is not 1v1 but more like panicing in zerg-zerg fights where I hit F1-F4 with Illusionary Person. If SC works like I understand, each F1 to F4 removes one condition from 5 allies – 20 conditions removed. How it is?

Just to be a bit pedantic here, highest skillcap has absolutely zero correlation to a high skill floor. Shatter builds happen to have both a high skill floor and a high skill cap, but every mesmer build in the game has a high skill cap.

The problem is with 0.2.0.6.6, it is really hard to produce clone. You will clean 4 condi if you have 3 clone + yourself. But without DE, it wouldn’t be so usefull.

I tried the 0.2.0.6.6 it is very very limited.

I actually like this build. Any build utilizing that mega stun with pistol/S.Dom has potential for being devastating in a team fight.

I’m just happy people are experimenting more with signets. They have always been severely underrated due to being subpar utilities on their own, but when traited for, they become VERY effective.

I may come back and critique it more, but I would potentially switch up a few things. S. Midnight > Blink is obvious for me, as a distortion with S. Midnight every 24s is totally OP. Also, I’d probably take the Signet cooldown instead of illusion buff. I feel like it’s really needed here to make the signets worth it.

Yes Signet of Midnight with distortion give you huge advantage in fight, but i had to choose between it and Blink. Since i wanted some mobility i took blink. Decoy is a must since i don’t use stab or torch.

The Cooldown on Signet is an heavy weakness, i already thought about it.

Mobility is king. I get it, but I simply put emphasis on winning team fights, and distortion on a 24 second S. Midnight is god tiers more helpful than Blink could ever try to be. Personal preference, but Blink is great.

It just looks like, at first glance, you’re starting a good thing with Blurred Inscriptions but that isn’t enough to have 2 signets on your bar. Signets typically need to be traited for more heavily to be of great use. Their CDs are atrocious, and this would be your biggest hindrance imo.

Since I’m a signet fanboy, I’ll give your vids a look and give some more opinions! Thanks for your contribution!

i didnt watch all your videos
but it seems that you play phantasm build as they do all the dmg
if so you aint fully utilize them right
also it seems that your group carry you as in 3v3 you lost but in 3v1 you win so its hard to say how effective your build is

also dont use moa on 10% hp enemy and try to save your GS push #5 when the guardian not immune to it

so i guess you as mesmer player are good as you know positioning which is the first thing to learn about mesmer

i wonder whitch Vid you are talking about…. But YES i remember did such heavy mistakes from time to time. Sometimes i do play kitten Bad game.

I’ve been playing with a quite similar build but I use mantras and sc+p / sw+f and traited focus. I mostly play solo in WvW but I tried it in spvp and it worked pretty well (without the Defender rune though).

It works extremely well against rangers, necros, warriors and engineers. Got totally obliterated by a guardian (he just ate my phantasms and health) and it works quite well against thiefs and eles, eles take time but down they go. The weakness is boon ripping which could be addressed by taking null field or AT.

It has really nice dps and good pressure capabilities. I’ve even fallen in love with the focus which I hated before. The defender Rune is quite amazing too, that aegis every 10 sec is such a life saver and the 4-5k heal that pops suddenly is like a christmas present every time.

Not saying that. Just most tense and intrigue moment in match. “Who will manage to get last points first?” Almost thriller culmination
