Hello,
I am looking for a solid build for WvW. They will be doing mainly camp flipping and solo roaming, or playing with my my self and one other when we are on. They have been mainly playing an engineer and have had their Mesmer collecting dust and are now wanting to try something else.

Can be a power or condition build, I know nothing about the class so not sure what is what. Thank you for the help!

Anyway. What kind of build do you want? Condition, Phantom and Shatter can all solo camps and all can be quite good solo, depending on the opponent class and build.

Also, the first page here is plastered with Guides and Builds, check those out. They are all well written and should help you finding the playstyle best suited to you.

I honestly don’t know they had just asked that I find a build for when they get back. They are playing a condition engineer so possibly a non condition build to give them something different?

And thank you ArmageddonAsh, shimmerless and tetrodoxin I appreciate the help! Will be nice (for me at least) if we can keep them playing. Thank you again for the help.

Mmmmmm, Shatter wise Osicat is a VERY fun and solid build to play currently playing it myself and trying to tweak it here and there for my own liking but he has LOADS of videos on Youtube for his builds and everything.

He also has Condition build iirc so might be worth checking that out as well

A fairly straightforward build for roaming would be:
Staff + Sword/Focus
0/20(IV,X)/30(IV,X,XII)/20(II,VIII)/0
Feedback, Decoy, Veil (or swap for Null Field or Portal)

Runes: cheap power runes or Runes of Melandru.
Sigils: Sigil of Energy on the Focus, Sigil of Bloodlust on whatever (use the Major one if you don’t want to drop 7g right away)
Food: Leek Soup or Raspberry Cream

Glas you enjoy wvwvw and solo romaing, I myself enjoy this part of the game alot.

I suggest 2 builds for you to look closer into in my guide. Both tested and proven effective for what you want to do.

Hi Bailey. I’ve been trying the condi build out recently, and it’s very nice for solo roaming, as it A)is powerful! B)has a high amount of stealth, allowing you to avoid zergs fairly well. However, stealth isn’t as useful when in a group/duo, as it essentially forces focus fire on your partner. There are two mass stealths (veil + mass invis; iirc), yet the others (decoy+prestige) are not; and is something to be aware of.
Regardless, all of Osicat’s builds are wonderful, and I hope you enjoy them.
