I have been fighting a warrior yesterday in WvW with a Dom/Duel/Insp lock down build. After he defeated me the first encounter we had some duels. It was over all very even concerning the win/loss rate.

After like 5 or 6 duels I realized, I had switched out Domination for Inspirtaion, instead of Chaos for Inspiration (because I wanted to try some Inspitation in my build). So I played like Dom/Duel/Insp, but actually I was on Duel/Chaos/Insp the whole time. This explains, why the stuns I expected from confounding suggestion didn’t occur^^

Now people claim the strength of Mesmers came from traits like power block and confounding suggestions. I must say, the experience from those duels goes against that. After I realized the mistake and switched back to Domination and dropped Chaos I expected a huge performance boost. But that boost didn’t really appear. Over all nothing really changed in our fights.

I know this is nothing more than episodic evidence at best. But it let me to believe, that the issues aren’t actually what people claim them to be. And nerfing certain domination line traits (like CS) would not actually change much in the long run, I believe.

CS is indeed quite strong(personally found OP). But it is not like it will carry you to a win no matter what.
Proper positioning, cool down managing and interrupt/burst timing all have to be good to beat a good player.
