Yo,

I’ve played my Mesmer only for PvP but am now looking into pve with him as my guard is a little slow and engineer I’m getting a wee bit bored on.

Is Mesmer levelling as annoying as I’ve heard? Or is it fairly easy? I have the feeling mobs will kill my illusions quick leaving me to kite everything forever lolol. I assume I want to go gs and staff from the get go until 80…?

I found leveling an asura mesmer quite funny. I end up completing the world.
If you think mobs will kill illusion before shatter them before they do
I use sword/focus (for evades/dps and swiftness) and greatsword. I didn’t find much trouble and I did 100% world completion 80% of the time alone.

I should point out for you that mesmer was my 2nd alt. And I did PvE only before went to PvP, unlike you. This is to say that while I was doing leveling I tried every single weapon and changed the traits lots of times S/F and GS was my end choice (until Silver wastes).
