Mesmer Phantasms and Legendary Weapons
But… Phantasms copy no other weapon. I mean, it’d be nice, but I can also see why the art people might shrug and say it wouldn’t make sense.
Well, also consider the weapons the phantasms use, in particular, focus iWarden. It wields dual axes, which is a weapon a mesmer cannot use. Would you want to make legendaries for each of the phantasms? How would you make one for Warden? If they changed it, what would it use?
That’s another problem. In theory you could make each legendary we can get add a specific effect to all our phantasms, but that’s a ton of graphics work for just one class. And imagine the whining. :P
I think as far as the idea of making a legendary affect our phantasms goes, a better idea would be to make specific class-only legendaries which affect the classes’ graphics in a specific way. Example for us:
Ephemeral Chaos of Lyssa
Precursor: Chaos of Lyssa
Effect: All Phantasms now wear a shiney mask which fasdes from white to black and back constantly, and changes from happy to angry during it. Their weapons are solid and fade in sync with the mask.
The legendary choices for mesmers are pretty bleak. I gave up getting Bifrost once they put the Kasmeer staff back into the Gem store a few weeks ago. There isn’t a single legendary I would want for my mesmer, the only one that fits the profession is Quip and making an offhand legedary seems like a lot of time and effort for not a lot of payback.
Instead of making a legendary for my main now, I am making all the Mystic Forge ectoplasm weapons. They are gorgeous and fit the profession better.
Wish they’d give Mesmers Short Bows…I’d be all over making Dreamer in no time.
I make mah Quip and I laff it so mash.
I can shoot confetti once every 25 seconds!
Next patch notes
New Grandmaster: Phantasms now equip legendary weapons.
Ohhhh yea…..
dude.Bolt sunrise/twilight
Legendaries are pretty on clones.
If you’re wanting anything more, then perhaps if they ever put in Legendary armors we’ll see those have some sort of interesting graphical effect that influences abilities.
Try your best to not make mistakes, but, when you do make mistakes, learn from them.
Better yourself.
