All the people calling for a nerf on the portal because of the issues with rendering have been licking too many windows.

You should be aware that this can occur in many other ways.

1) Speed buffs and large groups.

2) Mass portal on Mesmers

3) Mass exit of people from Keep / Tower.

So if you want to blame this all on the Mesmer then, you need to address the others.

Using the same idotic logic in other threads, ie limit or remove the Mesmer portal we can remove speed buffs, and remove the fort / tower exit.

Very special ideas, don’t you think.

So its the culling system, not the skill as the problem.

Once they fix the character rendering thing then Portal WONT be Overpowered, it isnt now but most people seem to think that the lag is seeing people is a function of Portal when its just how poorly designed some of the things are – yeah getting killed in like 2seconds because a group used the issue with the game (Anet fault) to come kill you when you are lagging thanks to the extra 20-30 people that appeared on the screen in a blink of an eye is VERY annoying – do i blame Portal? No, i blame Anet for not fixing the issue

Most ppl blam the Mesmer portal becaus it is the most annoying to respond to. If they want to come through the tower portal just drop aoes on that all the time and you will be fine ( most do this becaus they aoe the gate).

Speedbuffs are so bugged at the moment and some don’t stack with each other over right each other that this can back fire pretty hard. Saw this once or twice happen to a zerg where the last arrived after the first had dided. Sure most of the time it will work but it isn’t as fool proof as the portal press F and spamm AoE.

It is pretty much just how easy the Mesmer portal can be used to achive this. Also it isn’t rendered most of the time like the tower portal. It is not overpowered as a skill it is just annyouing to deal with at the moment and A-net is full of kittens to call it a legal tactic. Abusing server latency in anyway is no tactic but they don’t have a way to respond to it but calling it all good and kitten and giggels does not help anyone.
