Blades of Sabatine.5639

After a lot of PVP and WVW, I can say the Mesmer class is mostly a support / counter /attacking play style. At list this is how I play the class and this is how I see the class at the moment.

Maybe after the patch things might change, but am not holding my breath on it.
Anyway, my reasons for calling the class support / counter /attacker in WVW and PVP are our utility, Stuns and buffs. As for PVE, the class is that and easy more.

WVW:

While trying numerous of times as an attacker in the tick of a zerg battle with different builds, outcome is always the same. I die too fast. But when I play support with staff and selected support utilities, I feel like I am contributing more to the team in battle then when dead.

“As the say, a dead man adds nothing to a fight but a live one can make a lot of difference.”

PVP:

As for PVP, before the game starts, I advise everyone to check opponent’s statues. If I see more than one thief, I change my utility for more support /counter role and try to run with someone. If on the other hand just one or no thief on the other side, I play an attacking game and don’t mind solo roaming.

If you do think your build and skills are up to the level of solo roaming against 2 thieves then good for you. I know my skills an’t up to it but my build is good 1v1 against a thief or any other class.

Thief:

I see a lot of outcry about the thief been a problem and will admit they are a pain, but people need to understand that the thief class will always be a pain not only to our class but to every class and a thief type class in any game will always be a pain. Their ability to stay clocked is the reason why they are so always called OP. Does who played WOW will remember too well the rogue class been OP for years, changes after changes made little to no different to the class.
If the dev team do buff the Mesmer class to counter the Thief, it can simple make us OP against other class.

Our class is not perfect nor are the other class/s, some builds will always be very strong against others, some class/s will always be very strong again other class/s, 100% balancing cannot be attain. If we embrace the support role in WVW and try playing more tactical in PVP, you might start to have more fun with the class.

If not then my best advice is to change class.
