Guild Wars 2

I’m just starting out but when I use my mesmer sword clone skill that is supposed to create a clone that will leap to target it will only work if I am already in combat with them which is not really what I am trying to do. This is not the case with the staff and I was wondering if that is how it is supposed to be or if it is a bug… I am always within range. I am targeting them and I do cast the spell but no clone appears if I havent already hit it with something….

It sure sounds like a bug. Never happened to me unless I’m out of range. But mind you the skill has been modified in the latest patch so there could be some hidden issues with it.

if I am out of range will it tell me? because the skill will just go but nothing happens and then I have that long recharge. usually it will at least give me shorter recharge if im out of range… if thats just how it is then its kinda weird. I mean it could be that they aggro at 600 range and by that time they will have me in combat and the clone shows… but then i did it with a “yellow” monster and it worked fine. im just concerned its either bugged or it works weird…

In case u haven’t known already, u can check to see if u out of range by looking at the skill icon, if theres a red line underneath then u r out of range. Same goes for any other skill.
