So I’ve been playing around with ideas on a potential Chrono Build. Thing is that, I’m not 100% certain that it’ll work in sPvP, WvW, or PvE. The idea of this build is to:
1. Swarm the field with illusions and phantasm
2. Shatter the illusions/clones dealing damage while inflicting various conditions.
3. Recycle the illusions/clones for a second shatter.
4. Rinse and repeat with using alacrity and reduced cool down time to swarm the field with illusions/clones while inflicting conditions on the enemy.

I only have a few questions.

1. Is the -20% on weapon swap for the Rune of the Warrior a flat cool down reduction for all skills?
2. Would this be viable (sPvP, WvW, or PvE wise)?
3. What needs to change for it to be ideal for usage?

The rune of the warrior is only for the weapon swap not on any wEaton skill

Here is something I threw togeather last night for WvW roaming.

It’s interrupt condi burst. All it does is smack out confusion, torment, and blind (pretty much). Have a gander over the trait choices etc and see the synergy between them, the weapons, utils, and gear. It might help give you some ideas.

That said, I’d change Protected Phantasms for Restorative Illusions on your build.

Hybrid can be really difficult to pull off well in WvW, and even worse in PvP. Give it a whirl and see how you go.

Thanks for the link, I’ll take a gander at it. Out of curiosity, would this build benefit more if I used runes dedicated to condition damage or power? Reason I’m asking is that I’m currently eyeing on the Rune of Adventure along side with either Rune of Nightmare, Rune of Grenth/Balthazar, and Rune of Mesmer.

Well….. thing about a hybrid build is that you have low to mid level power and/or condi, and your ferocity/crits take a hit on the power end because you’re sparsing out your stats. So if you can maintain decent ferocity, and work might stacking into your build or bursts, then you can artifically bring both power and condi up to par.

So I tend to favor power/ferocity stats, and have condi as a second. So long as you’re working at 900 condi or more, you’re not going to suffer harsh penalties under the new way in which condi damage scaling works (someone else will know more about this). It’ll also depend on what condi’s you’re landing, or how many damaging ones. Since Mes is pretty much all confusion/torment, it might not make sense to focus overly on condi damage over power. Then again, some would argue that splitting is poorer than focusing on an either/or anyway.
