Mesmer - Tried to play an alt.
i had the same problem try elemental it kept me busy for a while altough im only playing mesmer atm
try an elementalist. I guarantee that between swapping attunements, spamming skills, and flying all over the place, that you wont be bored.
I’ve tried almost all classes and the only one that kept me entertained longest was the Elementalist.. even though I only got to level 22. Elementalist seems to be the best way to go after a Mesmer because you’re constantly changing between elements (depending on how you play) and spamming skills. Also you’ll move faster.
necros and eles are good. Consistent aoes and high mobility – something we dont have lol

Thats exactly the reason why i enjoy guardian (and i dont normally enjoy pure melee), its so different to mesmer
mesmer is distance and kiting, guard is getting in close. the guard also has enough weapons to make it feel interesting- ele might keep you entertained for attunement swapping but d/d still seems to be the best weapons
But if you really dont like melee and its got to be ranged- then you wont find anything as fun or interesting as mesmer to lvl (but thats just my personal opinion with 4 lvl 80’s and 3 lvl 40+)
necros and eles are good. Consistent aoes and high mobility – something we dont have lol
Necros also have poor mobility.
Necro has very consistent mobility. As least it has some utilities that give swiftness without being a random proc.
My favorite Alt for my Mesmer. . . is a Mesmer, but I do like all the other professions over all, just none nearly as much as my Mesmer.

Pretty sure he’s talking about just roaming the world. In that aspect, necros and eles both have it a lot easier than mesmers.
In-combat mobility and escaping, necros are the worst. Mesmers are better, and then eles moreso.
i just meant swiftness. you can have that up 100% without having to slot stupid runes or pray for random procs lol

relax dude, in this game if u dont craft legendary u dont know where put money, so drasticaly can try equip ur main champ then alt
I’m kill you’r bessies
As someone who has too many alts I recommend sticking to a main unless you really feel like you need to mix it up to keep enjoying the game.
Like you, I also have a level 80 ranger who is not geared. I also have a level 80 elementalist, warrior, and thief. And a level 30 something guardian.
My recommendation depends on what you like. If you like the mesmer because of the misdirection and confusing nature of play, I recommend a S/D thief.
If you want something totally different, i recommend a guardian (although I have less experience there.)
Elementalists can feel similar to a mesmer, but the play style is more frantic. For the mesmer I usually have brief frantic period with multiple bursts and calmer periods setting up the next burst. Elementalists are all frantic all the time.
i don t find shatter mesmers less frantic that an ele.
You have your rotations to maximize damage with positioning instead of combos… (i mostly use GS/SW-P)
Constantly leaping and rolling away from foes while avoding any hit ._.
It just depend if you want to maximize your damage or not.
Ele has the range issue, a thing you don t know until you play one (means any weapon force you in just a range) but at least gives you something extremely valuable to any mesmer player:
AoEs to farm moneys ._.
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
I would recommend ele since you said you’re getting bored of the other alts. Stay away from ranger as they are horribly boring in parties (most of your DPS is auto attack #1 on sbow). Attuenment swapping and setting up combos is similar to weapon swapping and setting up shatter burst
Yea i tried playing an alt.
I was satisfied to reach lvl 24 with my warrior and unlock the vigil armor sets for my mesmer
Been collecting dust for a month now.
All the other’s never got over lvl 8.
Luna Solares – Mesmer
Play an Engineer!
We are very few, and multikit Engineer are prolly the highest skill cap in the game!
You won’t ever stop positionning yourself and rotating kits. On 90% of the build, you won’t ever auto attack more then once during a fight.
Give it a try

Mesmer is my third toon to 80 and having a lot of fun with it. My first was Thief and I think everyone should run one because it will teach you how to stay alive Its also quite fun. Guardian was my second and is currently my main. At first they seem kind of bland but I am still trying new builds and it’s actually a very deep class.

I started with mesmer and I’m happy with her. But since she is already 80 and I had a phase when I didn’t want to play with her (always used the same build, which I don’t recommend, now I switch about every two weeks) I started trying other classes. And I have to say no other class was as fun (or difficult) to play in early lvls.
And I have to agree with Bloodgruve, Guardian looks straightforward but in reality has depth.
What I discoverd is that the real fun begins once you hit lvl 60 and you have access to all traits.
I’ve tried them all but only to level 10 or so, but I just miss my clones so much I always find myself back with Mesmer
Furthermore…how does anyone survive without phase retreat every 6 seconds lol.

Thief and Guardian are both fun, but it depends on your playstyle.
If I level anything next it’ll probably be an Elementalist.

Shayera Nightfall – 80 Mesmer

Most classes seem to really come online at 60. I had a tough time with Mesmer till then but the last 20 levels went real quick. I don’t think you really get a good feel for a class till 60.
Blood~
My main is a mesmer, my alt is an elem. It tends to require a lot of activity on the part of the player.
Sorry to drag it back to this, but if you roll a Necro thinking they have great mobility you will probably be on for a rude awakening. In theory you could use signet of locust and spectral walk on your hotbars at the same time kitten well as war horn speed, but you would be giving up so much and would still not have the mobility of several classes. Mesmer focus speed is pretty good at pthe end of the day

Engineers are the highest skill-required class in the game, imo. If you like that kind of stuff, engineer is the way to go. (I love my engi).

Ah, I think they want group invites though!
Lorella Windrunner – 80 Thief
Shayera Nightfall – 80 Mesmer
My three favorite professions are the Warrior, Guardian and Mesmer (and I have all 8 profs at 80.) For support I play Guardian or Mesmer, for damage Warrior or Mesmer, for heartiness Warrior or Guardian.
