A friend and I are wanting to make duplicate (appearance) mesmers to roll around in WvW together and we were wondering what two mesmer builds would be the most effective when used together. I know that the shattercat is popularly; so one of us will use that, and i was thinking about going the confusion route. Problem is, i am a main D/D ele, so i don’t know mesmer builds that well.

So essentially, if you could make the perfect mesmer duo, what would it be, shattercatX2, or a mix of builds that play off each-others strengths?

Well, you can make a similar shattercat build, but more condition or, more tanky, that’s the good with the build, I run a condition based more or less, but still pretty much damage using shatter(1). You can make a dual of same build, making fights 2vX more difficult. cause the damage is so high, and imagine 2*16k damage to a tank warrior. He would be dead in the matter of around two seconds

I would think either 2 shatter mesmers or one of you go as a confusion build but playing similar tactics. Either one sounds like fun. If the 2 of you are roaming in wvw it might actually be more interesting if you each had different setups. If you both went shatter opponents would die so quickly it might actually turn into something boring unless you could find 5-8 opponents running in small groups to attack.

Shatter 10/30/0/0/20 and confusion/support 20/0/0/20/30. Works together amazing. Shatter cat for preloaded damage and confusion/blinds from the other. Shatter cat has little to no condition removal. The confusion spec uses null and feedback as blinds and more confusion. Fight in the glamor fields. Having the confusion mes there lets the shatter cat go full damage since the other Mesmer will have portal out (also a glamor).
Both specs by themselves have face melting capabilities. Together you’ll be able to tackle up to 5 other players with not to much effort.

If you play good, you can take up to 5 enemies by your self. But if you are two you easily take 5 up to 7 enemies, in case you don’t make any mistakes, cause vs this many you will die if you make one timing one second to late, or miss using abilities, also where you have to save some CDs to keep constant damage in the fight, but if you use burst to take down one of them, they may start rezzing the downed/killed one, making it even more superior to use AoE damage, sword skill#2, and shatter #1. can deal around 16k damage if you crit every strike*. Wich I also meantioned in my earlier post, thus this is for pure shattercat mesmer. wich means you will have a more like glass build with the shatter to deal tons of damage. but you can change some of the zerker pieces to valkyre or knights to get either more armor or health.

* this is the total damage with both shatter#1, and sword#2, with 3 clones + that you make shatter damage aswell. and having ~90% or more critical damage.

Well, after a few weeks we finally finished hitting 80/getting some gear. We decided to both go condition spec; i have a full on glamour build, 20/0/0/20/30. He is going full condition with bleeds/burns etc. with a mix of confusion thrown in.
