i’m new to the Mesmer profession so i’m posting my build here to see if it could work in WvW.
i like to play a supporting role. i love to portal bomb for my zerg and i want to be able to survive well and deal decent damage
weapons: Greatsword/sword & focus
stats: Soldier’s ( power + toughness + vitality )
specs: Illusions, Dueling, Chronomancer
under Illusions persistence of memory > maim the disillusioned > master of fragmentation
under dueling desperate decoy > blinding dissipation > deceptive evasion
under chronomancer all’s well that ends well > illusionary reversion > chronophantasma
utility skills
6 – well of eternity
7 – blink
8 – portal entre
9 – well of calamity / mirror images
0 – gravity well
please let me know if this build can work. if not please suggest something that will help me play the way i want to play my Mesmer thanks you ^^
also, what prefixes do u guys recommend if soldier’s isnt a good option? should i go for Valkyrie? berserker? knight’s?

I prefer fencer’s finesse over Blinding dissipation.
It will work but I prefer to leave Portal for situations that require it (some fights/ porting into keeps).
Veil is a must have usually while Null Field is situational. Feedback is situational , it’s a counter to people piloting golems and being ignorant of what is going on around them.
Well of Recall is very strong because it will help your team secure backline kills and Well of Precognition (until it is nerfed) prevents your enemies form securing downed.
If you aren’t running Shield then I strongly recommend having at least 2400 armor.
Be aware that desperate decoy may interrupt a healing skill. Be also aware that you can walk into the well of eternity rather than casting it on you.

It really depends on what’s your role and in what scenarios you find yourself playing.
For my heavy havoc group I theorycrafted Teh Portalbomber that is meant to provide stealth for the group and long range portals: MI, F5, MI, portal entre, mimic, blink, blink, portal exit. It can also provide decent CC.

thanks for your reply i dont use veil because we usually have 2 more mesmers in the zerg who will cast veil and/or mass invisibility. i usually place the gravity well somewhere in the middle of the enemy zerg so that the frontline can land their burst. i keep all this up because of the continuum split/shift that allows me to keep recharging my skills. additionally alacrity helps with my skill cool downs.
as of now, my current health pool is around 22k.
It can, but Illusions is a waste of time in zergs. A torment&confusion stack here and there does nothing.
I find Inspirations way better. Protected phantasms + izerker is too good. Plus you heal a bit and cleanse conditions when healing, and give 1s of distortion…

Yeah… I just run traditional shatter Chrono…
Almost full zerker (Some assassin bits), blink/decoy/precog (Daze mantra after precog nerf…)
And gravity well.
Dom/Duel/Chrono
Sword/Torch & GS.
Idk what server everyone who does portal bombs is on, but those never work on my server.
Regardless of whether it’s happening to us, or we’re doing it to them, a guild group is just going to bomb the portal.
That sort of stuff only works against pug blobs.
Someone else will usually run veil, but honestly veil isn’t that useful. You can just kite it out.
I save precog for when the commander gets boon corrupted and pulled. It’s one of the only things that can save him.
(Or when we have a particularly nasty hunter’s ward on us)
Gravity well goes on top of necro wells. This is because we don’t run a venomshare thief, so we need CC/Immobs for the wells.
Everything else is self explanatory.
For zerg tagging your best best is iZerker, MoP with traited healing and Gravity Well.
Veil (if you are on move), Blink and Decoy to get you out of sticky situations.
You can always respec for portal and stealth when you know you will need to hide in the keep.
