Mesmer balance changes- Waste of Time
Maybe another feature in the pack will be the fixing of conditions. One can only hope.
You do know that Mesmer is the profession with the most amount of bugs, problems, and is desperately in need of QoL and TLC (although the QoL and TLC is on par with other professions, namely Ranger and Necro).

Well, I know for a long time the Mesmer issues could be attributed to the fact that no one in charge of character balance actually played a Mesmer, and apparently they made any and all changes to the class based solely on player feedback and what looked good on paper – and perhaps in reaction to getting their back-sides handed to them by Mesmers when they played their warriors and thieves. Hopefully someone on the dev team now actually plays Mesmer on a regular basis and they’ll get some much needed love this time around….?
i agree, the feature pack should fix our 40+ bugs instead of introducing new things
It’s going to try to push us to use useless traits they introduced before. As soon as we found one worth using, they turned around an nerfed it pretty quickly last time.
We’re kind of a hated class. These notes are so depressing.
Mimic is going to be so worthless, using a utility skill for probably a short duration of lots of boons and then waiting on cool downs?

You know what? Just scrap the balance patch is just leave the mesmer as it is, Now that there is something going to happen the might fix the class, People are here as usual with a lot of negativity.
I wonder why so many manic depressives play the mesmer class, it might have its challenges but nothing to warrant the henny penny idolatry you see in these forums.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see new (and old, ofc) features bugged in their own ready up video (if we will even get one, most mesmers in game are leveled solely for portals and veils by players who level gwe first, so why bother?).
And they won’t give a kitten about it even if it would be clearly seen.
I foresee a doubling of Mesmer bugs with Anet claiming them as features. Honestly Anet should fire their QA considering some bugs are 2 years old now. Oh wait, my mistake Anet has no QA.
You know a Condi mesmer can wreck groups in group fight with every shatter in my build I can cripple remove a boon and put confusion and torment on people not to mention if I keep staff clones up there more Condi..also torch 4 into the staff chaos storm I give chaos arua for my team…so the scepter bonus is gonna be cool if they add and don’t delete anything….just wish the would give me signet back the one the give my Condi to my target and still there boons..instead of just 3..i was sad when that happen
the funny thing is that people think the torment auto attack is stronger then the ie staff clones.. i cant see any way of that being true.. the only reason i think that is an issue is because pu mesmers are scared to lose thier traited torches to trait ie.
but that is also themain reason the scepter buff isnt going to be a problem.. because pu mesmers are scared to stay out of stealth long enough to do 3 auto attacks.. and the clones only use the first part of the chain applying 2.5 seconds of torment with a slow casting time / interval.. it will be more pressure then before when you didnt even want to dodge roll while holding a staff because the clone was garbage.. but still. i dont see that being game breaking..
pu is the actual problem. and im ok with them getting rid of it.. its a crutch (pu) stacked on top of another crutch (stealth.. usually pu runn enough to get 100 percent stealth uptime)

It’s not a case of either-or. Condition-based builds will be using staff + scepter/x offhand weapon.
And I’ve yet to come across anyone who said that the scepter auto will be stronger than the staff auto.

im not saying either or.. im saying that everyone is only talking about one part of the ready up.. and the other things tehy said are fine.
With fixed staff clones, it will be possible for a mesmer to upkeep 25 bleeding, perma burn, perma fury and some might. It will be awesome.
NOTE: 99% of my 1000+ hours are PVE, so the following is in regards to my PVE experience only.
As I scrolled through the list of changes by profession (mesmer was conveniently at the end of the list) I was getting excited to see how many things they were going to be fixing in the upcoming patch. Instead I see they are going to buff the worst build style (condition), and buff a random utility. Seriously? I would be happy if they left everything the way it is in terms of buffed/nerf from previous patches, and just fixed the issues we already have, such as phantasms not spawning/attacking etcetera.
