Mesmer colors
Hello. I was wondering, Mesmer’s color (and his effects color) is only Shades of purple?
If yes is any way to change them?
Yes.
No.

Short and to the point, I like it.
Ok. Then is any way to make him like more male? :P
Ok. Then is any way to make him like more male? :P
A few interesting notes about that:
First, purple is traditionally a regal color, used by kings in times past. The reason was that purple dye was very pricey to acquire, and hence purple clothes became something indicative of a whole lot of wealth.
Second, pink was traditionally (until fairly recently) a color used for boys, the reason being that it was a stronger and more decided one.
Third, it’s pretty lame to argue that having your character be pink or purple makes it feel “less manly”. That’s like saying blue clothes would make you feel less girly, and at best that’s admitting that marketing has a very strong hold on your thoughts.
There’s very little if anything more or less manly about the color of your class.
Feeling Blue? Guardian’s calling.
Red, orange, yellow? WAR!
Shades of grey? Thief’s got you covered.
Green as the grass? Ranger danger.
Green like you’re about to vomit? Find a bag, or alternatively a necro.
Taste the rainbow? Ele.
Identity crisis? Engineer.

I know all this. The other players do?
Make him a warlock, some dark dyes and skulls/furr on the shoulders, rich clothes and a scarry mask…
Purple mind breaking magic and deadly psycho-spells.

This is ridiculous. Are you worried that other players will see you as “less manly” because your particle effects are purple? I’m a male, and purple is one of my favorite colors. This is not what gender is, and you need to spend some time thinking about what it means to be a person, and how your views on gender in society can mean to someone who doesn’t abide by the binary conditions of gender.

Mesmer is plenty manly, you just have to own it!

You know it’s not the mesmer or color that’s the issue here, but your own gender stereotype, right? You’re holding yourself back.
My toothbrush is Purple and Pink.
Just think that your opponent may feel unmanned after being beaten up by a shower of purple butterflies
i play a male mezmer with pitch black blue armor ,the minor details like belt and patches on my armor are brightly golden
Im man enough to play a mezmer, but for you i suggest getting a bad kitten manly mask!
My bedroom is painted pink and I mean vibrant pink. Yes I chose it and did it myself.
Pink and purple are two of my favourite colours aside from blue.
I’m a woman, so what I say may well be moot point, but as Carighan said, purple was a very expensive dye to a get a hold of and was reserved for royalty. I would take that as a compliment. I think it would also lend some credence that Queen Jennah is a mesmer (her gender aside). I don’t really like the color pink myself, but I love purple, especially the darker shades.
Mace Windu had a purple saber. Just saying.

Can I just say how MUCH I love this?
Oh, I can?
Welp, I love this more than I love face-tanking a silly warrior in my bright purple and gold armor….
Well I just saw something funny – playing the recent living story episode (I missed the last two) and in the Pale Tree chamber the lighting makes all mesmer powers green!
So weird, every pink effect turned green – was quite cool for the short time it lasated.
Asura male with a purple mohawk. Or male Charr with purple samurai hair.
Ok. Then is any way to make him like more male? :P
“Purple” includes a pretty broad range of colors. My Mesmer’s robes have purples more on the blue side, and he looks pretty male.
Purple rules this world.

Just because the default colors of their outfits are pink and purple doesnt mean you have to keep them that way, i play an Asura mesmer and use black for the main robe color, dark brown for the leather parts of the robe, steel for the metal, and a dark, rich purple for the trim and he looks fantastic. The particle effects on the spells is something you get used to, and even if you aren’t a huge fan of the colors or the butterflies the class just becomes so much fun that your phantasms could be giant pink bananas and you wouldn’t care. As far as manliness goes, you’re a clothie that runs around with swords and/or a greatsword most of the time (for me at least, your mileage may vary) and you have 3 copies of yourself stabbing things in the face. What’s not to like?!
