Hello! I’m looking for a build for Edge of the Mist’s I’m not really sure what people run there so any help is greatly appreciated. I’d prefer if I could use the staff or scepter but I’m open to all weapons.

(Ps I’v also seen players portaling other players into keeps and buildings how exactly does that work?)

You could try this build:
http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Mesmer_-_PU_Condi_Roamer
In group fights, you’d linger around the fringes of the fight, picking off fish that stray too far from the safety of the school.

Portaling into keeps most often goes like this. The Mesmer hides inside when an enemy takes the keep. After the enemy forces leave, the Mesmer comes out of hiding of Portasls the friendly forces in.

a build to use for a k train?

just spam f on the siege and supply depots and roll your face along you keyboard at the lords. pretty much it for eotm. its used for karma and leveling just equip as much aoe as possible and tag away.

Yeah, if you’re looking for tactical play, you’re going to be disappointed in EotM. It’s basically just ring around the rosie karma training. You just want as much aoe and long range tagging as possible.

If you want tactical play, head over to WvW. The build posted by lujate will be solid for roaming, but will be awful in larger groups. Unfortunately, there is no Mesmer build possible that doesn’t feel awful in large groups. We don’t have any good long range aoe, and we don’t have any strong cleaving weapons. Wells help a little bit, but the aoe is relatively small, their range is short, their cooldowns long, and their damage is absolute garbage. The best you’ll be able to do is spamming gs skills and hoping your iZerker survives long enough to get an attack off.

I personally don’t see a huge distinction between roaming builds and builds for focus/gank/pick groups in larger fights. For more generic “running with the pack” kind of play don’t go with condie PU. For that, it’s more just GS cleave and hoping your team carries the fight.

This is my setup for EoTM, it’s far from optimal and people could easily rip it apart. But it does exactly what I want. I use GS as main weapon, S/SH for defense. Wells and GS for Tagging and Bagging. I can bring others down and have a fair amount of mobility. Also not super glassy.

Edit: Forgot to put sigils in the weapons. I can’t remember off top of my head what I’m using at the moment but that part is pretty flexible, armor runes too. I included what I am currently messing with though.

If you’re on eotm at least take Focus and Greatsword – have some fun punting enemies over the edge.

If Blue get bear buff. Use interrupt traits. Have some fun with that banish auto-attack.
