Mesmer in dungeon
I play with warrior, not with mesmer.
Was quite clear from your statement that you don’t main mesmer..

“Interesting.” We often have 2 Mesmers in our 40+ fractal runs and simply thoroughly enjoy the abundance of:
- Projectile Reflects
- Group Condition Removal
- Boon Stripping … or Stealing Boons and Sharing them (love that!)
- When in trouble, still being able to range mobs that can’t normally be ranged due to their projectile reflect (Greatsword ftw … pew pew!)
- Portals for making all sorts of things easier (even trivial)
- Pulling mobs into a clump to be cleaved down
- Timewarp
My suggestion would be to find good Mesmers. I believe they will change your mind about what a Mesmer brings to the table.
You may just be finding that it’s harder to find good Mesmers because it has a higher skill floor than some other classes.
Let’s try to be more productive next time with our posting. Thank you.
Try your best to not make mistakes, but, when you do make mistakes, learn from them.
Better yourself.

Strange… seems like quite a few records being done with mesmers…
Mesmer Focus is one of the best Dungeon/Fractal weapons available, but its true Mesmers are slightly lacking in damage (especially compared with Guardian who can provide a lot of what the Mesmer does but with extra DPS). However the unique tricks the the Mesmer (Portal, Stealth and Reflects combined) with good burst damage make a well played one still a worthy Dungeon/Fractal companion.
Weird, I ran an arah path yesterday with 1 other mesmer. It was one of the smoothest runs I’ve ever run, even with 1 person that had never run arah before and another that had never run that path.
The key is that the mesmers have to be competent. If the mesmers are bad, then they’re worthless and will make the run awful.
Take a look at one of my recent runs with a random group https://youtu.be/mrMCtGWOzzo .Cof is a good example that makes use of focus pull, portal.Plus the mesmer delivers more than decent damage.Or watch an arah path, especially against lupicus.I’d suggest you play a mesmer to better undeerstand it.Bouncing attacks are never a problem if you’re the least focused.
Oops. I play mesmer as main, but due expectations of dungeon players, I try avoid mesmer in dungeons. I’m not a warrior player. The post was not a troll. When I have been as warrior, the other mesmers have been underrated.

Interesting. I’ve gathered about ~700h on my mesmer and not once have I been asked to switch to other class. I’ve always done my job (condi clear, reflect, pull etc.) properly and have made my way to lvl17 or so in FoTM. Mesmer is definitely not underrated nor useless in dungeons. I’ve seen far more players with warriors, guards and eles failing hard. Most mesmers I’ve encountered were as good as the rest of the team.
If you can’t enjoy playing your mesmer in pve, find a group that will play with you or get your guildies to join.
