Hey guys, I’ve been away from GW2 for almost 1 year and was looking to return to pvp with my mesmer. I had a few questions about how some stuff works nowadays.

1. How does the 33% increased daze duration work for the full Rune of the Mesmer set? Most dazes are 1 sec long. Does the set make dazes last 1.3 sec or 2 sec (rounded up) or 1 sec (rounded down)? If 1.3, is it even worth using over other rune sets for a CI mesmer?

2. How does sigil of paralyzation work with dazes and stuns? If I’m not mistaken, these effects were previously rounded up.

3. Does Illusionary elasticity finally work with Winds of Chaos from staff illusions?

1. On the tooltip, it rounds to 1.25 seconds. I tend to use Mesmer Runes both for the daze duration and the small boost in damage it adds. But, of course you can use any weapon set you like for CI Mesmer, so long as you can make it work. I’d recommend power-stat runes for Halting Strike, though some opt to gain 25% speed from Traveler Runes or otherwise.

2. I don’t know if it still works with dazes. If so, it’ll round to the nearest 1/4 second, I believe.

As I recall, the rune of the Mesmer bonus is buggy. It seems to not add duration properly or something like that. I can’t remember the specifics of it or how long ago it was tested, but my gut feeling is that it’s not working properly.

I believe sigils of paralyzation do not add to daze duration. Stuns are additionally not rounded up anymore, I think that was changed 2 feature patches ago.
