Guild Wars 2

I just rolled a mesmer and can’t seem to create an inactive portal. When I click my portal entre skill it immediately creates a bright pink “press F to use” portal that doesn’t go anywhere. Then the skill goes on 90 seconds cooldown. Noob question, but how do I create an inactive portal that I can make active when I get to another location? Is there something else I need to do? Thanks.

dont double tap portal

the first time u tap it creates an inactive portal, then run around etc, and tap portal again, then it puts the second portal wich connects to the first one

u probably were dopuble tapping portal much
