The downed skill deception is nearly a complete waist of a skill.

-The cloak last for no decent amount of time.
-50% of the time it ports u into a even worse location then before and in many cases right next to your clone (which somehow finishers in WvW will hit you instead of your clone you left behind).
-On top of that there have been multiple times where it gets bugged and the skill won’t even work(usually when by a wall).

Things I think should be done to make the skill actually useful.

1. Fix the bugs (not working near walls or cliffs)
2. Make it so you can chose where you end up

Also I think it’s very odd that a thieve’s downed skill is teleport to target location and a mesmer’s is cloaking (which last for 1 second).

Working as intended. If you don’t like a little randomness in your playstyle, then Mesmer is perhaps the wrong class for you. Try an Ele where you can better map out actions with exact results. Mesmer though, sometimes we surprise our enemies and sometimes we surprise ourselves.

So far as the thief comparison is concerned, they get to pick their target because they don’t get stealth and clone to go with it.

The only one I could find complaining about downed state on short notice. There’s plenty more though, and they’re all just as silly as the last one. Usually comes up about once a week.

agreed. Downed skills are shocking for mesmer.

I was there buddy(s). I used to hate Mesmer downed skills. Then I played other professions and I learned to apreciate it. Yes, you can not fool any1 with that skill. But it s an almost garanteed stomp interreupt (granted you have a target on wich you can use the skill). If one could use the skill #2 even without target, then it would be close to perfect (bugs excluded).

Number 2 is a delay skill in every profession. Thief teleport and ele Mist form are nice, but Ele mistform is the only garantued stomp interupt/delay, that you can use in every thinkable scenario. Every other #2 skill can be circumvented with stealth, blind, stability or teleport/steal.

So if you think about a balanced fix for that one, you’d have first to give every profession either a garantued “interrupt”, or an “interrupt” with one flaw, how to circumvent it (I think I prefer option 2). And you would have to make it possible for any profession to have a decent follow up #3. So let’s be honest, there are way worse #2s and #3s out there than ours.

Stomp interruption from 2 is a great troll, it’s like sayingkittento the person who’s just downed you

In PvP I don’t really care but in PvE it’s really annoying when ur downed and teleport right into an aoe.

You don’t say… one time, I got a mesmer moa-ing a clone instead of me!
Those are one-in-a-lifetime occurrence, but they are priceless.
