Is it only me what thinks the Mesmers traits are a bit, unorganized? I find it quite hard to find synergy between the different trees. Right know the only viable builds that I have seen/tried are either “do damage with phantasms and play defensively with staff” or pure shatter builds (gs/sword+pistol etc).
Afaik, the only other builds that I have seen/found is interrupt builds or mantra builds, both which are rather crappy in both pvp and pve.
For example, I almost always use staff as one of my weapons, both in pve and in pvp. But I’ve come to realize that even though I always include staff there aren’t any traits to boast its effectiveness. (Except the lower recharge and the extra bounce trait) I would love to use the staff as my main weapon without switching weapons sets all the time (I don’t actually mind switching weapons it’s just that as a Mesmer you are rather forced to use all 4 of your skills on both weapon sets to be effective).
I know that Mesmer is “the deepest class” and I don’t mind that (that’s why I play it) but why are, for example “Phantasmal Strenght (Phantasms do 15% more damage)” 25 points deep in our support line? or (Dueling VI – Protected Mantras – Increased armor while casting mantras), seriously? Or am I wrong here?
