Our goal is to do it from 5:30 to 830 pm PST this thursday. You will be at the tail end of the event which is just fine since we will probably need a few players to replace players as the game progresses
We currently have the following professions signed up.
Rangers – 4
Necros – 10 for both EU and NA
Mesmers – 2
Ele’s – 0
Engineers – 0
Warriors – 0
Thieves – 1
Guardians – 1

The idea is to have a team of 5 of each profession doing tournaments, strategizing, and talking about possible builds.
We did this once before for just Necromancers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBWXxDGe15Q
So COME ON MESMERS! Are you going to let the other professions drop the smack down on you?
Hell, no! C’mon peeps! Let’s make sure we fill our enemies’ screens with clones! 5 mesmers = 15 characters on screen.
Kildemort (W) / Killer Claws (G)
Deadly God (En) – Fort Aspenwood
I could possibly be down for this. Though not much exp in sPVP.
Char name Jalliel, should be available the whole event, I can record.
Hope you guys don’t mind a tpvp noob hahaha
awesome to see, no experience needed. we are going to be rolling against some experienced teams during this event since I have informed a majority of the players I know. Most of them are excited to see a full tournament queue.
Its possible you will run into the five man rookie necro team or an organized team or a bunch of solo queuers. it is meant to have fun, and meet other players and begin to talk strategies about how to play certain roles as your class. dont worry about your experience just come with the idea of having fun, and talking with other players.
Where does one locate your mumble info?
Where does one locate your mumble info?
I will relay that information via pm before the event :P.
Oscicat and I were talking about doing this event for the EU as well on a separate occasion.
Quis Redslinger Xll (those are Ls, for the astute)
Entire timeslot
Can record, still working on audio
I’ll be heading up the mesmer team. Unaccustomed to PvP myself, we could be in for a learning experience. I look forward to seeing some mesmers.
We need at least two more mesmer players who want to have a fun tournament experience.
The warrior one will be streamed hopefully on http://www.twitch.tv/tehmaker
And we might get Kylia to show up need two more Mesmer!

I can’t convince any recording software to record both my mic and the computer audio (mumble) without routing the mic to the mix, and delay makes that hard to use. My current plan is to run both windows sound recorder for the mic and point the recording software at the speaker mix. I figure one benefit is I can adjust my volume relative to mumble in post.
Using msiafterburner. Tried camstudio, ffmeg, ezvid(why is this so terrible), and vlc(no audio at all). If there’s any other suggestions, I can try them real quick tonight.
Edit: total afterthought…mumble can just record the audio directly, can’t it? Well makes that better if it does.
Edit2: sooo, mumble is pretty stellar. Point mumble audio to headphones, record mumble session, msiafterburner record screen and speakers. Everything is covered.

Fantastic sign ups here! We are excited about everyone signing up
Tonight Thursday April 25th at 5:30pm PST to 8:30pm PST
I will be pming the participants our mumble information so they can get on and use it. We have plenty of spots, and are pumped by the responses so far. We will try to do a general get together for about 10 minutes before hand to give everyone a clear idea as to what we are doing, and see about getting a group Picture of everyone who is taking part in the event ahead of time.
There is still time to sign up!

If you don’t have fraps, this is the best method. Mumble has pretty incredible recording it’s the reason we use it for the podcasts.
What I have done in the past before getting fraps is record mumble and then record video separately than edit them together with video pad editor ;p. I have only found fraps to work perfectly for recording everything I am trying to do.

It was interesting. Some of us, myself included had almost no experience in pvp at all, so it took a bit of time to get coordinated and understand what we were doing and learn the map. There’s also the element of learning what each person on the team contributes and how to communicate and what to communicate. My previous experience in tpvp was with a guild group and we all knew each other and what and how we play because of wvw experience. The build I was running seemed ok although if we do this again I’d probably make a few changes. All in all it was fun and I’d like to get better at tpvp.
Next time we hope to get a few more players so we can do it without all the headaches.
The goal was to have fun, and enjoy the time running around. As far as I am aware, Everyone had fun!
If anyone has videos of the event please pm me so we can work on getting all the videos collected and put up on the SOACGaming website.
