Hello!
I was wondering if those who have a full (or close to full) magic gear can tell me their experience with farming in Orr. I personally can farm fine but I have berserker gears on. I know that the traveler’s set are power and precision gear, very similar to berserkers but I cannot afford full exotic magic find gear. The whole point of the gear is to gain income, how would full green or yellow set affect our damage?

I just bought a full set MF: Yellow Armor with 5 rune of pirate and 1 Traveler,and Green accessories.
I noticed the difference killing the mob one by one,more green stuff.
But in the events it seems hard to drop,beacuse there are a lot of people,and using this set i lack of damage.Just 1 time i found 2 yellow in 1 wave of mob,but normally,i can’t kill/deal enough damage to loot.

It’s much harder if you’re stacking condition damage. If you’re stacking power/crit anyway, i dont know why you woundn’t craft a set of yellow mf gear.

the yellow set isnt very expensive i run a shatter heavy build. in larger group DE its the only way i can tag fast enough i illusionary leap followed by dodge or mirror image into the mob pop mind wrack and then blurred frenzy. most DEs thats really all there is time for unless its a vet or champ mob

The +MF is the same on green, yellow, and exotic gear. So your MF gear doesn’t need to be exotic.

You can pick up a full set of green explorers gear, opal jewelry, traveler’s wep, major rune of luck, 3x major pirate, and 3x major traveler’s for under 1gp. That’ll put you at 101% MF. Add in a crest of the traveler to your back brace and you’re at 104%.

Toss in a food (cheap food would be peach bars or eggplant fritters… both with +26% MF), and you are about as good as it gets.

With this setup I typically get one yellow item drop an hour, plus a handful of greens. I don’t farm like a “pro” tho… I just coast thru the zone killing whatever.

Thanks for the reply guys. Good to know that the MF is the same! The real question would be how much much damage do we lose as green vs gold gear does have quite a large difference. Having MF is great and all but if the damage is too low to even reach the threshold of tagging then it would be all useless.
Just for comparison’s sake green chest armor gives 59 power, 59 precision and 3%MF while yellow gives 72, 72 and 3%.

You picked the chest which has the highest disparity in stats. If you compare the gloves you’d see lower disparity.

Regardless, I doubt you’d notice the difference while farming in PvE. If you do then go ahead and buy the expensive stuff — it’s your money.

What I notice is that I’m more squishy in my MF gear. Getting exotic MF gear won’t fix that. Neither will killing mobs 1/10th of a second faster due to 50 more precision… (sarcasm)

Indeed it does have the highest disparity, but all together (armor and jewels), it does add up to a hefty difference. It’s this difference that I wanted to know about from experienced mesmers.
I compared Berserker to MF gear anyways and they’re both squishy.
