Hey,

I just turned back to GW2 with a new account and I´m interested in playing a mesmer. I know mesmers are really good at PvP and have some usefull skills in PvE(reflection, teleport, timewarp) but how about zerging? Can you “farm” kills like other classes(warrior, guardian, ele, necro)? Afaik you don´t really have a lot of AOEs(only staff)? What´s the damage output from a glasscanon mesmer in speedruns etc.(because that and WvW is what I want to focus on)?

After fgs(ele) got nerfed, you think mesmers will become viable in speedruns again?

We just got some new AoE in the form of our mantras. Mantra of Pain/Mantra of Distraction and the like now have a radius to them so we are better at running with the zerg and tagging these days. Also, the radius of Mind Stab has been increased as well. Illusionary Elasticity, if your clones stay alive long enough, now bounces another bounce for a pseudo ‘AoE’ but I wouldn’t count on it being up.
