I’ve notice that alot of people suggest having at least one mesmer in teams for dungeoning. I’ve played a mesmer(zerk) and nothing compares to what another class can bring. Feedback, well the gaudians wall is better. Mass aoe condition removal, again another perk the gaurdian can do but in a diffferent form. For dps, well any class seems to do better in that catagory. The signets seem useless, and the stealth is situational. As for Time Warp, many classes have that ability although you’d take more damage. I feel like I play this class wrong, and I want to know what makes this class usefull.

why u need remove conditions from group? better remove boons from enemy
mesmer have 1 of the best dps burst in this game. with ur zerk u must know it.
signet not useles at all. if u glamour mesm u use aoe blind(aoe confusion). if u buffer or have 100500 boons on u, u use inspiration for double group boons type. or if u have lyssa runesm u use elite skill and inspirtaion= all group buffed under time warp. its amazing dps for group.
many classes dont use self zephyr
mesmer is utility class, 4 util skill can change all group dps/survive.
every guild run in wvw must have mesmer to, beter 2 or 3

Mesmers are the best at what theyre built to do. If you’re playing zerk mesmer then you’re playing dps build, and naturally won’t do as well as other class in terms of bunkering or support.

However if you spec into certain traits, it becomes amazing. You won’t get much use of your glamors unless you trait into it. Like glamours, which becomes individual weapons by itself if traited properly, which includes veil. Diversion and other shatters can do aoe 25 vuln stacks if you trait it as well. Traited focus skills reflect projectiles which you can spam along with feedback.

And any decent player, regardless of what class, knows time warp is the best team Elite skill (better than warbanner imo).

I say mesmers are on par with anything other classes can do, if not better. Although its a shame mesmers cant do shouts. I’d replace all my signets for that.

You can adapt to fit any situation. You can do strong group healing, 100% uptime on either projectile reflects or proj destroys. You can do aoe boon stripping, aoe condition removal, aoe regen, on-demand cc, all while doing good damage. A Mesmer brings more to a party than any other class, because we can do everything at the same time.
