Mesmers can’t have it all, stealth longer than theives, blinks, invuln on sword, instant ranged damage on greatsword with no travel time, high spike damage, interrupts and stuns. Mesmers are OP already on live and in HoT they are broken. Its time to nerf some of their active defenses if they are going to keep their high damage output. It is getting ridiculous.

dont forget about insane travel trough portals, unlimited party quickness, extreme contition dps and perma evades. And no casttime condi-remove and stability, unlimited stunbreaks, no cd dmg skill (mantras) with free toughtness boost
AND they can turn you into a moa!

And all withoud kitten casttimes or cooldowns!


Good, that the next l2p-patch could fix it all!

Sarcasm is not an argument, mesmers are just plain OP now, both in live and beta. They have too many active defenses, some of them need to be removed. Mesmers should not have so many stealth options, that would be a good place to start.

Contrary to the hyperbole, the thief still out stealths the mesmer, by a lot. That was proven a few weeks ago when someone did a side by side comparison of a mesmer and a thief maintaining stealth. The mesmer stealth lasted a while, but the thief never left stealth in the whole period.

Both characters were just standing there and going through every stealth skill they had. The mesmer eventually ran into the cooldown limitations. The thief never did.

And by the way, mesmer damage is pretty low in comparison to the other classes, at least in pve.

No, I play a thief and they are fine. Thieves are balanced by being very squishy outside of stealth, this is not the case for mesmers. This is why mesmer’s should have their stealth capabilities severely weakened. If not stealth then there are other active defenses that can be toned down.

Thieves are more fragile than the mesmer, that is true, however the thief has better stealth and hits for far more damage than the mesmer could ever hope for. Thus they are balanced.

Chronomancer, at least in terms of Stronghold, are beyond broken. They make that game mode look like its playground, and in general are a bit too strong. So that’s my 2 cents, no need for personal attacks or Mesmer lashes, they simply have too much utility going for them in the game mode and have fairly little counter.

Not sure about conquest/x though, haven’t been interested in co quest in well over a year.

Hypocrisy much? I find it highly amusing that a backstabbing kitten wants to say, ASSassins can kill mesmers but cry when the opposite happens.

That was not your argument. You have just described thieves. So, if you want to nerf Mesmers because of that, you should want to nerf thieves as well.
…but of course you wouldn’t want that, because you play a thief.
