Mighty Mesmer (Build Viability)
Not really sure why you’d pick the focus for that. Using the curtain as interrupt is unreliable at best and the warden is borked. I’d take an offhand sword in such a build.
If this is intended for roaming, I’d replace 2 points in illusions with 2 in chaos and go for a sword/torch PU hybrid. That’s what I currently use to roam, taking cleansing mantra for condition removal instead having traited torch (suffer somewhat from increased torch cooldowns, but gains celerity bonus to other cooldowns) .
If you dont like PU, phantasm or shatter I have a hard time imagining a reason why you even play the Mesmer, lol. Because that’s kind of everything the Mesmer has :/
You can call your build fancy names but it wont change the fact its going to be a variant of one of these three. Well, you got glamour as well but that’s really just a phantasm build with a bit more support and possibly condition damage. Full mantra Mesmer is not viable and often end up a phantasm/glamour hybrid anyway (cant really play mantra and shatter at the same time, poor synergy)

I completely understand what your looking at, and Im pretty use I never said I didn’t like shatter. I said I didn’t like hybrid shatter builds. I feel like I didn’t explain the build well enough on my part. I think this video will explain the build better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2huaq3JMW4c

… but you got a shatter hybrid in the OP?
Lets forget about what I said, and get to the point about the build. Will it work well, yes or no?

No. You can’t stack might effectively.
Interrupts can work sometimes, and you’ll be able to get some decent burst now and then, but the majority of the time and particularly against certain classes you’ll have nothing from interrupts.
Weapon swapping only gets you 6-9 stacks, and then shattered strength only will get you about 3 permanently. It’s just not enough to make it work effectively.
Okay thanks for the feed back, I guess this build was only good back then.

You can get good with interrupts but the right setup is vital. For one boon stripping in your build is vital to remove stability. 4 In Domination, Shattered Concentration is a solid choice. Failing that using arcane thievery is good right before a burst. Personally I like Halting Strike to build in to great interrupting synergy. Lastly I go with Blade Training and OH sword. The riposte of sword 4 is great damage and produces a clone to build into a diversion shatter. Otherwise you can prep the channel (just like temporal curtain) and fire it when you’re ready. I’ll throw up a vid.
I don’t usualy run MoD, I don’t particularly like it on my bar but it’ll give you two solid, insta dazes before needing to be recharged

I run 4, 6, 4, 0, 0 and this vid I put up recently as part of a build thread. It uses the same interrupt setup

In GvG’s is where I primarily like to run shatter boon removal + daze interrupts as part of a pick team.
Thanks Ross, 4/6/4/0/0 looks like a way better interrupt build that what I brought up. Its alot more “solid”. Dumb question about it though. Is it possible to replace the focus with a pistol? The focus illusion is way too unreliable, and the pistol phantasm does “non” static dps. If I were to make this change I would lose the reflect from the iWarden so would recommend I change the healing skill to Mirror?
Keep ether fest for your heal. It’s by far our strongest. Don’t worry about ranged pressure, we’ve plenty of ways to deal with a ranged opponent without reflects on hand. Yes you can swap focus for pistol. You lose swiftness, mobility, aoe pull, and the ability to pull off ledges etc but you’ll get your pistol interrupt chance. You can even trait pistol in the dueling line if that suits you. If you’re really game you can swap DE with it.
