Guild Wars 2

I thought that Mind wrack was compounding in that more clones meant more damage per clone and more hits. But it seems to be opposite.

1 clone = ~1350
2 clones = ~1100 each
3 clones = ~950 each

Is this how it is supposed to be working? Thanks in advance for your comments and help.
