Mirage: No Utility, No Support, No DPS
Yes unfortunately it is like this
When I have seen presentation of the classes I was like “wow this will make me return to GW2 – finally my first toon will be fun to play for me” …. then I have tried it …. and again… and again… and I was not really sure if I have completely forgot how to play GW2 (it is more then year I played last time)…. and then I checked the forums and found out it is not just me….
I really hope AN still has enough time to completely redo this mess – otherwise I do not think there will be reason for me to come back.
Just sharing this Reddit topic here for visibility as it sums up a lot of the problems with Mirage better than I could, and hopefully leads to some positive buffs/changes to the specialisation between now and release.

Thanks! Here’s hoping they are reading over ALL the feedback that has already been posted on here as well and make some immediate changes!
I don’t know why they didn’t beta test the expansion properly before launch, there is not much time for them to fix many of the issues before launch tbh
Considering Reddit thinks Mesmer is OP if they can log into the game, this says a lot about Mirage.

Having seen the threads on reddit I’m trying to avoid it so as not to get worked up by some of the complete lack of sense in some comments. It’s a shame. :/
I hope Mirage survives this and becomes a solid spec in the next month.
I think the problems with the Mesmer stem from the original GW2 conception of what it is to be a Mesmer. They were born clunky and counterintuitive and they’re just adding on top of a weird base. I think the shattering mechanic proves that.

My thoughts exactly. The atmosphere there is quite toxic for my taste. I’m just more in love with some of the individuals here who have a passion for the Mesmer class as I do and want to see it change for the better.
Sometimes I wish our mechanic revolved around hexes and depleting health like illusions like what we had in guild wars 1.
