Moa morph
and built in distance Opener…. Oh thieves also get a 1v1 I win button its called thieves guild… Every thief I have ever dueled has said they could not beat me if not for that skill… So maybe that needs nerfed too! Then engis also have supply crate which is the best dueling elite in the game AOE stun, CC, healing, plus burning…. sounds like an I win button to me…

Thieves guild is easily counterable. Engi supply crate is hard but still ABLE to be countered.
Moa = you can do absolutely nothing. About-face, 5, two dodge rolls, still dead if used around 50%.
I propose they make it last shorter OR allow us to use stun breakers while in this form.
In the last thread I posted a vid, and someone said “oh you didn’t even use your elixir S in the fight.” This is because GOOD players know not to blow their cooldowns & use them at the right time. I had it saved, and yet could do nothing when turned into a moa. Stupid.

yeah mesmers have blurred frenzy which btw isn’t as long as they are out…. our blocks are not a duration but one attack only… beyond that we are kinda screwed… Oh also while thieves guild is out we have to worry about the thief hiding behind all the smoke that is gonna come out and BS us… I use thieves guild in tourneys with my thief and I cry a little inside when I see just how much it does for how little effort.
Fun fact: Most mesmers I have talked to agree that moa morph is a all around kittenty choice for you elite skill.

Also, the game is not built around 1vs1. So you removed one target for about 10 secs……..big whoop, here comes his/her allies. Not only that, but it has a long wind up time.

So the mesmer used decoy… Knew your heal was on CD other wise you would have used it already when your health was that low…. Son… plain and simple you got out played….

popular build takes little effort. for that reason, I make my own builds
People strongly underestimate line of sight here :/. Simply use the #5 skill to get close to a corner/barrel/wall/whateer and hide behind it, then wait untill the morph wears off,. As for thieves guild: it doesnt change a whole lot in a fight for me, i just jump in, burst while evading attacks, jump out.
Supply drop isnt so bad either… Phase retreat as soon as i get stunned, first fire misses, i may get immobilised, whenever i get close to the turrete a simple mirror (heal skill) or dodge would make the turrets miss. Its not much of an “i win” button if you ask me.
I, myself use mass invis, because it gives me just about the same as moa: i can freely move about, or i can set up a burst. Mass invis is also much lower CD
TL;DR: moa isn’t an “i win” button and doesn’t need nerfing, due to high CD

got moa’d the other day (mesmer vs mesmer) and went on the offensive. with enough toughness, it just subs out one autoattack for another. I won that duel…the moa part was more of a diversion than a threat. I have rarely used it myself…with the long cooldown, I’d just forget it was on my bar anyway.
Moa Morph is a kittenty skill and is rarely carried. That being said its OP as kitten if you get stunned, crippled, or immobilized. If not LoS and dodge as much as you can til it wears off. The when it does go back and punish the mesmer who you used it. That being said they should let the run be the run it was before. Any skill that locks you out of your skill bar for that long should be there to cause you to run and not your opponent to win.

When it comes down to it, almost every elite is an in-win skill. I’d rather have seen GW2 elites be more along the line of GW1 elites, an above average skill that is too powerful to be in the same bar as other elites, and helps form your builds playstyle, but not a single skill that flips a battle on it’s head

I disagree, i main a mesmer and i’ve never felt like elites are an “i win” skill. If you got backstabbed by the thief while his thief guild, then that means his strategy worked: let the thief guild ditract you, setting you open for a burst, and then backstab. Simply adjust your strategy and try again.

I know it counters all transformations, kills all spirits, elementals, minions, banners, what have you that they summoned, but i’ve never tried it on a thief after they’ve popped thieves guild yet, i’ve never really needed to i just hit “Mimic” and watch the thief with the pistols kill himself and enjoy my 4s of blocking.

What I’ve learned from this forum is that people actually seem to die from Moa. I can’t remember a single instance of dying because of Moa. I played an engineer today and got Moa’d at least three times. Each time it had no effect in the match. I either won or, if I lost, the player who Moa’d me was able to kill me again without Moa. I’d rather Moa be replaced with a more useful skill.

Few Mesmers use Moa Morph. Mass invisibility is just too good. Time warp used to be amazing, but after it got nerfed I rarely use it.

time warp was a pretty kittenty skill for a mesmer. Little dps gain since most of mesmer damage comes from illusion and shatters which quickness does not help much.
Really, the quickness nerf harmed other classes more than the mesmer. I beliveve warriors and ranger got hit the hardest with the nerf

so basically, you are fighting the supreme 1vs1 build in the game without a full health bar and u never used elixir s?
If we are arguing that moa morph is op, then I never use your case.
I imagine Moa Morph is strong in sPvP, but it’s pretty much irrelevant in WvW. In my opinion, the 10 second transformation time is justified due to the ease of escape in WvW coupled with the 3 minute cooldown. I’ve been Moa’d twice in WvW and the first time I just ran into the portal of a tower and the second time I just fled and ran around a rock whilst the Mesmer struggled to keep up and get LOS.
I think moa removes spirits minions etc because those are chain skills eithout a buff on your bar… Thieves guilf cant be activated twice so it doesnt gt removed, just theorycrafting here

I’d be ok with using stun breakers. I mean it’s not a stun itself so it won’t end the Moa, but I’m fine if anti-CC can be used if you get CCed while in Moa morph form.
Sounds fair enough to me. Hotbar layout could be a bit iffy because I think some classes have stunbreakers on 1-5?
