To summarize quickly:
Superior Rune of Earth
Settlers Exotic Armor Set,Jewell and Weapon
Main Weapon : Staff (Superior Sigil of Water and Purity) and
Scepter,Focus

Ether Feast,Decoy,Signet of Inspiration,Arcane Thievery(Null Field with group)

Protection Duration helps a lot because I have a lot of regen and can escape in any unwanted circumstances.

What is your thoughts?

Have you ever killed anyone who’s not a lowie or afk with that build?

Of course but fights are pretty long instead of two heartseeker hits and die by one thief in two seconds now with this two thiefs can’t experienced and stayed alive 2 vs 1 and I play generally with group and supporting ,take attention of enemies or npc s and let group finish kill.
I think this build not for most of people as you said finishing enemies are hard,fights takes so long 1vs1.If enemy want to run away they do if they have some mobility but with group pretty usefull.

It’s spelled “defense” in American English, “defence” in British English. But “defensive” in both.

Your stats say that you’re a tanky condition build with good sustain.

Your traits, utilities, and weapons say that you don’t want to kill anyone ever.

Focus doesn’t do condition damage at all really, so it’s mostly a wasted weapon here. With warden’s feedback, it becomes decent projectile defense, although the warden itself is generally useless.

Without DE or debilitating dissipation, you have no way of applying bleeds. Without DE, you have no way of maintaining good staff clones for burns/bleeds at all really.

Restorative illusions without IP is incredibly weak, and you won’t have enough clone generation to make use of it anyway.

You’ve taken signet of inspiration for what reason again? Basically that’s a 100% wasted slot on your bar.

So what exactly are you doing with this build? It’ll take you an hour to solo a camp, you won’t kill anyone that isn’t afk…and you might not even succeed then if it’s a warrior. You’re completely useless in a group, providing no utility and no damage. You can survive fights sometimes, and that’s about it. I actually doubt that you could escape a couple of determined thieves though, since you lack blink.

What’s the purpose of this build? To survive? I could survive just as well full zerk with a few stealth options and a withdraw.

You mentioned group support but the Mesmer is never the focus of an enemy force, especially not a tanky one. Mesmer is left till last because they’re a distraction. I don’t say this to be mean or rude but you’re not assisting your group mates in kills with this build, you’re being carried by them.

I think I should say again purpose of this build is best defence that I can have without kiting and try to support allies as I can do,killing someone is last thing for me at WvWvW I am rarely alone,well this is best build that I succeeded more than others,
If I use my all stealth that is about 14secs stealth with desperate decoy is enough to run away anyone with focus swiftness that they are determined or not of course if all are unused.%50 against Basilisk Venom + another profession group I hate it :P just desperate decoy helps generally.
I use focus to have swiftness as a mesmer we don’t have any other one and to pull enemies who wants to run away from group generally just that.
Restorasive illusions are weak I agree,I don’t use just that sometimes change with shattered conditions,compounding celerity or malicious sorcery.
I like signet of inspiration that is nice when I am away from group and have lots of boons rush near them and use generally.
Without DE yeah that trait still tempts me to change my mind but -%9 inc damage still wins for me if I got it right

Anyway on the topic – first I saw the power was low and thought, ok nevermind he must have gone heavily into condition – but then I see condition damage is also <1000?

Would like to see how you kill a bunker guardian or warrior with this build.

All I can see is the potential to kite enemies towards your allies/zerg and be an annoying kitten – but can’t kill anything other than upleveled glass cannons by yourself.

Fair play if you enjoy it, but I’ll be honest I can’t see much good – far too defensive.

The thing about Mesmer is, you could go full zerk gear, make yourself tremendously glassy, and still create a build that is meant for support AND outlast your entire team in a fight, going down last. Therefor, why not be as damaging as possible while still building with support in mind? Unless of course you wanted to be some sort of medic, and hard res people from downed while tanking hits. Then perhaps that’s the only reason why I could see you forgoing everything else for so much sustain.

Totally right I was using Superior Rune of Mercy with this gear then changed Superior Rune Earth.I used to play only one character warrior from start of game played a year I went full zerker generally and hurt too many people but in the end I got bored and deleted stayed away about 3 months and back game rolled this mesmer about 2 months ago.Now levelling ranger also that one probably will be more offensive I hope.
