My fear of Ferocity change
I fear our phantasms will start using Ferocity stat instead of Critical Damage just like precision, which means all flat Critical Damage modifiers (not Ferocity modifiers) from food/etc once again will get ignored by our phantasms.
Ferocity would still be a basic stat. No problems here. I imagine they’ll also change critical damage on foods into ferocity for consistency.
No no, I’m sure phantasms will still work and get affected by ferocity basic stat. I fear just like Sigil of Accuracy that modifies Critical Chance directly instead of Precision stat gets ignored by phantasms the new items that affect Critical Damage directly instead of Ferocity will start getting ignored as well.
You are assuming that the crit chance will remain on items. I doubt it. Sigil of Accuracy will probably become Sigil of Ferocity, granting +50 ferocity or something. Wouldnt surprise me if it even turn into a stacking sigil (but probably not stack as high as 250). That way they cripple high dps builds even further (cant have +crit chance and +ferocity on the same weapon as its just two stacking sigils).

All existing percentage critical damage stats on gear and items will be converted into the appropriate amount of ferocity, which will then factor into your critical damage multiplier.
I assume all external modifiers, as food, possible sigils, runes, even banners or other skills will grant ferocity instead of critical damage.

Yeah I can see your point. Most pet/AI related mechanics get overlooked. Anet seems to focus on one thing at a time. Atleast regarding classes, look at the ele changes on Dec 10th, those took actual thought, new traits. IMO the shell game (i mean ‘balance’) Anet plays with their updates is just pathetic. Wish they would atleast try and fix the glaring issues that effect multiple classes first. Anyway we’ll see if they learned anything in the past… but don’t forget iWarden.

I doubt sigil of accuracy will change. Thats crit chance/precision nothing to do with ferocity.
