Really, fighting rank 40+ elementalists is too specific a question. If you want a decent answer look up the best spvp mesmers for videos, posts, ask on a PM…
I find the easiest way to kill a ele is to make them kill themselves.
Im not at your level pvp though soo.. ._. maybe worth a try.

ok so. I finally ran into a “high” skilled elementalist(atleast in my opinion).. we just did 1v1 for 5 minutes and neither of us died.. finally used moa morph on him and he ran away.. lol. so… i guess my build cannot -kill- a ele with such skill.. but you can definitely hold him off till back up arrives.
My confusion was useless on him.. and his attacks were useless on me. feedback did the most damage though. was playing in and out of the bubble as much as possible.
other than that i killed some thiefs, some rangers, some engineers.. easy ele… did 10 minute battle with a bunker gaurdian… Really fun build for me.
sorry it may not be much help for killing a ele but… its better than dying everytime you meet them.

Use the Decoy + StaffSkill2 combination a ton, it will drive them insane…
SInce the Decoy cloaks you and leaves a clone behind, they attack that clone IF you use the staffs second skill to jump back. The staff skill recharges rather quick, and wiith mirror images you can shatter at a pretty quick pace, maybe slot a skill for warping, my main strategy is to constantly move in circles and leave clones behind, if you get a great sword it’s a good idea to constantly use the 2nd and 4th skills while your staff skills recharge. It’s a very primitive way of killing an elementalist, but hey it works.
