Now that ive been quite satisfied with my power chrono for wvw roaming, now im dying to use condi mes for wvw roaming, which ive seen so many skirmish fights where in a condi mes can take 1vx mostly around 2-3 targets, and can down 1 or 2 yet still survive, im going to start making my armors thou and ive been searching for the right traits and gears for it, ends me up getting confused, for starters? what should i use? and what armors should i go on to and start cause right now im goign to make an ascended set and very much likely confused, dont want to waste with little result, if anybody can help me decide which one should i take, would gladly ask for you adivses and help for wvw roaming condi thanks!

Dire equipment, and uh that’s about it. Condi Mes roamer is extremely easy to play.

I should point out that while Condi Mes roamers can win almost any fight, they have few ways of keeping people in fights; and they kill very slowly. That means almost at any point your opponents can decide they don’t want to play your boring little game and saunter off, and there’s very little you can do to stop them.

And since you’re roaming, you’re not doing anything important anyway so there’s little reason for people to fight you once people realise what you are.

In short it’s a build for people who like cheap wins against newbies, nothing more.

I agree dire gear is the right equipment. I put a link to my current build below.

My experience in roaming with it is different than Embolism describes. The build works fine for soloing towers and fully upgraded camps, so it doesn’t feel unimportant to me in terms of what I can accomplish. And it’s durable enough to defeat an opponent while you’re taking a camp or tower.

My experience with keeping people engaged or preventing someone from just walking away is different as well. With a base 25% movement speed plus blink, I can usually keep up or close a gap on a runner. With the “Time Catches Up” trait, clones and illusions are bit like missiles in running down someone ahead of me. With staff auto and scepter 3, I have some range. And the key thing is that these attacks put on long lasting conditions, so the opponent stays in combat. When the range is close enough, the combination of chaos storm, tides of time, and gravity well will typically stop a runner from getting away.

All that said, I’m sure it’s not as high of skill as some other builds, and some people will find the combat very boring with all the blocking that this build uses.

I think perplexity and tormenting are both fine. They are both expensive, so you might start by just getting some runes of undead. They are quite good and you won’t care when you replace them.

Condi mesmer for roaming is generally a very poor choice due to the lack of mobility aswell as chase potential. Literally any class you fight can simply run away from you. However, in an honor 1v1 or 1vX I’d either recommend Dire for a full condi build but you can also play a really strong hybrid mesmer build with Sinister. (Ran a variant of this in spvp and staff 3 hit for 9k.)

This was over a year ago but I doubt they nerfed the staff 3 phantasm’s auto.
