Need a good build for.....
for the most part you’ll want to run Deceptive Evasion under the duelist tree, and put the rest towards your ability to shatter for levelling up.
Personally not too fond of using shatter builds but they are our highest dps setup.
Alternatively you could go into Inspiration and focus on phantasms if you’d rather be a little tanky while you level, the regen adds up
Sybol – Healing Bunker Charr Mesmer (80)
Dresdon Honorclaw – Zerk All-Ranged Charr Warrior | Hawke Fullmoon – Melee Ranger
you can go about this in 2 ways.
either get some toughness and condition damage gear, a staff, aggro 3 or 4 mobs, use chaos storm, then phase retreat from inside it and get back in it, create clones whenever you lose one, use chaos armor whenever possible, and shatter whenever possible.
not the quickest AOE but i solo several mobs in Orr doing this, it’s a very nice defensive way to do it.
alternatively, you can get crit chance and condition damage gear, a GS, 15 points in dueling, and just spam clones, you’ll be stacking bleeds like no tomorrow, and this usually is best for single targets.
i have not tested these methods in dungeons per se, either way, dungeons are not meant to be soloable in explorable mode, but story mode is quite easy so these methods should work.

For power build use a sword or great sword. Staff is always goods 2nd weapon for the defense if you get overrun. Deceptive evasion is very very good. I work it into all my builds. Don’t have a build calculator handy but I’m sure at 42 you can get deceptive evasion (20 in the 2nd row), the sword tait to drop CD by 20% and give 50 precision. Next go for 10 points into either the first row for 20% damage to mind wrack, or 10 into the last row for 10% crit chance on mind wrack. Doing dungeons though you would have to be on your game with dodge as this build would cause you to be in melee range.
For the great sword, you could do the same. Or go 20 into the first row of traits for 20% GS cool down and 20% damage for mind wrack. But you loose clone generation with deceptive evasion. You would also be at range so less of a chance for damage.
Either way, its not to expensive to retrait. Try em both out and find what works for you.
