Need exp build critism
This is pretty much the full tank build you’ll find on the Internet right?
As long as you have the highest toughness and you can keep up Quickness your job is done. As long as your group doesn’t try to deal over 200k group dps it doesn’t matter if you deal 10k or 2k dps.
- In cases where you need to sustain yourself (e.g. Deimos) I’d recommend Mantra heal and restorative mantras.
While the rezz bubble can carry groups sometimes the manta can sustain yourself at most bosses without the need for a druid. - If you want more heal on your allies you can swap a few stats around and take rune of the monk. (66.4% doon duration). Is what i’ve come up with (idc for these .6% tbh)
- If you don’t keep your weapon swap on CD the superior Sigil of Water could be better for healing. ( renewal: 83hps if used all 9s // water 104hps if used all 5s)
Try to adapt your build for every boss. For most bosses with toughness aggro it’s enough if you just get about >1,400 toughness. (or even less if the warriors don’t rezz)

Me Games Ma pretty much summed it up. Your build seems like it is pretty much just a downgraded version of Minstrel tank.

The reason for minstrel and cleric pieces (besides obviously boon duration) is so you have as much healing power as possible for healing allies. Could you go into more detail about why you take issues with the current minstrel build? This might help us better understand the direction you are trying to take with your build. At the moment, I’m not really seeing any cracks in it for your criterial of healing, being self sufficient, 100% boon duration, and doesn’t cause redundancies in the meta.

They explained that actually. The full minstrel build will make it challenging for the druids to keep gotl stacked, actually lowering group DPS. You want to provide a bit of supplementary healing without keeping everyone permanently topped off.

So, I’ve been thinking about this, if the minstrel chrono could actually keep the raid sub group alive by themselves, you could replace that druid with CRanger for the spirits (can split them if multiple CRangers) and have the druid in the other subgroup without the minstrel chrono getting plenty of Astral keeping up GotL.
You might lose glyph of empowerment but the higher damage of the CRanger and that 1 druid can keep 4 GotL on the whole raid squad depending on boss. You would lose something like 7-9% damage on one sub group but you get the much higher damage of the CRanger. Anyone done some experimenting with this?

So a minstrel chrono is basically the most useless type of healing. Because it pumps out continual sustain ticks from regen and (depending on build) mantra charging, it keeps a good group always topped off on hp. This makes it very difficult for druids to provide gotl. However, the chrono is absolutely incapable of burst healing in any form. Somebody eat a haduken? Too bad. Need to throw heals on someone that got ported at VG? Too bad. Need to keep eles alive during breakbar at gorseval? No can do.
It’s utterly unsuited to replace druid or even tempest as a main healer, but simultaneously provides constant healing that ruins gotl upkeep. It’s horrid.

The thing is, we are in a state where most classes have a very strong burst heal on a pretty short cool down. The two CRangers would have we heal as one, the CPS war gets a full heal as part of the rotation with plenty of buffer health. Assuming the other member is engy to complete the condi group they have a nice 5k heal on a 20s CD. If they were condi ele instead glyph of elemental harmony is just as strong a heal.
I guess it all comes down to if the people fail mechanics or not and how much that better uptime of GotL from having a druid in both groups translates to better damage.

*Hmm that’s interesting about the mantra, I decided to use the well instead because of alacrity, but I feel like that would be adaptive.
*I decided for durability runes because they are the second strongest runes for a chronomancer. For comparison leadership benefits 666 relevant stats, durability 600 and monk 400. As for why durability instead of leadership: because lol using anything minstrels or nomads, rip damage.
*OK I’m not an expert on water vs renewal, I’ll do my best to explain renewal though. The reason I chose sigil of renewal is because of 3 things. 1 Its heal can be controlled by weapon swap and personal positioning rather than boss positioning, a small distinction but an important one. 2 It has a higher coefficient than water, so even though water heals more for with 0 healing power, renewal should heal for more with healing power. 3 In practice the proc rate of water is much more than 5 seconds and weapon swap is required because of concentration sigil.
Also this sort of thing is only created with intent to be used as second set, just in case anyone is looking who wants to make a chronomancer, you should always have a Beserker / Commanders set as your primary go to.
The reasons you list are pretty valid.
My only concern is the Sigil still since it requires you to constantly swap weapons which is not required. You only really need to swap when doing your Quickness rotation.
I for example only swap to gain in the concentration buff and usually camp focus/whatever in the meanwhile.
And since water procs on hit and not on crit I don’t think your water Sigil will proc much less than its cooldown.
As I’ve said monk Runes would provide more healing and if that is not your intention it’s better to use durability yes.
Another thing to note. I don’t think that top groups (these that you would ruin gotl for if your healing is too good) require a minstrel tank. Maybe for deimos but since I don’t even run minstrel in my rather casual groups I don’t think this would be the problem.
I’d consider minstrel a way to carry groups that normally have problems with the basics than a way to minmax the game and that being said gotl won’t carry these groups either.
