Hey guys , as topic say, I wanted to get some info about current situation mesmers are in. I used to play long time ago , now returned for expansion. Ive read about all classes more or less , but mesmers looks like most universal class for all game modes. I play mostly pve , but also join pve , wvw from time to ttime. So can mesmer be good choice for me ? Are they wanted for dng/raids ? Are they somewhat good for pvp ? And any similar info regarding mesmers or any other current class more suited for all type player like me is more than welcome

I can only talk about pve and there has never ever EVER been a better time for mesmers or rather chronomancers than now. We are in the top spot, da “real MVP” of the pt. We do fantastic in every game mode and everyone loves us (well aslong as you have a good mesmer ofc :P). Yet our profession became even harder to master and mistakes will be punished fast. On the other hand this leaves you with a good reward if you are a skillful player.

Same from PvP perspective.
Maybe in the very beginning of the game there was a time where mesmer was the faceroll class with very high damage, but for a long time it has been relocated to a side role where it’s only redeeming point was portal and 1 trick-pony shatter build, until the joke of a bunker meta where we are still very strong.
Not on the level of a tempest cele or scrapper engi, but I am definitely happy to see any bunker mesmer build on my team these days.
