Need help choosing roaming build
When I take givers its for the extra control pressure from soft CC (cripple, weakness, and imob). Rabid will give you more damage, which is probably what you want.
The build is fine for survive and damage, but your mobility is super weak. Traveller plugs a hole but still leaks. You have no chase, or any real CC ability to stop someone from leaving you. You’re running with the typical condi PU shortcomings, and they’re pretty well known by roamers and the GW2 community.
Compare it to my build. Hybrid damage, max landspeed/mobility for a mesmer

You can keep chase and still apply pressure with direct damage. I’m toying around with runes of Infiltration atm too, just cause they’re cheap so why not. But pack runes complement swiftness and damage. Thy sucky thing for mesmer is having to choose between either travelers runes, speed runes, or a focus. Meanwhile warriors can get swiftness on crit as a minor kitten . Anyway, mobility is king, in roaming, in scouting, in zerging, in everything. So unless you plan to stand and hold some ground you’re gonna want more of it.

Thank you for the build. I just have 2 questions:
1: Is the cavalier back really necessary or i have other options?
2: Do you have some videos of the build working?
1) I have Cav in the back because all I have is a cav backpiece. Can’t be bothered running more fracs. Yes use any other option you choose. Zerk, rabid, celest, whatever.
2) This is post patch footage with boon duration runes

This is pre patch footage (runes made more boon duration), same gameplay, probably slightly different stats.

Just on mobility, it’s the difference between life and death. Whoever has the most of it is in control of every engagement.

How does he never get rooted in that second video? If one person rooted him at any point, he was dead.

Yeah not really. It’s quite easy to escape an imob on that mes setup, and even easier to escape a stun. Unless you’re talking a full gank squad spamming imobs over and over, but that’s a rough spot for anyone.
Traited torch, prestigue for stealth, removes condi, hit arcane thievery if the imob is burried, iMage too if you need any more, blink 1200 and away you go.
