Need help with my Condition build.
Oh, and on a side note before I spend all this money on what-nots; Will the upcoming changes to mesmer effect my build in such a way that I’d be better off swapping to a different one now, before I spend my gold on condition gear/weapons?
What type of game-play do you normally do? Condition mesmers can do some amazing things in WvW, but it’s kind of lackluster in PvE because the mobs don’t attack fast enough for confusion to do its magic.
I’m not a confusion build, I’m conditions. From what I’ve read those are two separate things. I do PvE mostly, I’ve already got my build for WvW set up just fine. I am focusing on PvE.
Generally straight mesmers use Rapid gear, but like Lion said, you’ll have to be more specific about how you want to play to get better help. Do you have a build in mind? Go here to get few ideas: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/mesmer/List-Find-your-Mesmer-Build-Guides/first.

Yes. I is MrPromethious’ condition build.
I use pretty much that build and I think rabid is one of the better options. Toughness adds to condition damage and precision procs sharper image and the vigor on crit more often. One problem, rabid is kinda annoying to get, since I’ve only found to get parts of the set from Orr temples and besides finding it, dungeons, sylvari cultural, and whispers armor are the only place to get it. Not too much of a problem for my sylvari who joined whispers, but could be for others.
Rabid is the best set for any Mesmer condition build. The alternative is Carrion, which is at most on par with Rabid in builds that are unable to put points in Dueling (a.k.a. Glamour). Condition builds that take advantage of Rabid gear however have the highest DPS and arguably the best survivability.
Another vote for rabid stat gear.
Rabid.
Nemo already explained why the stats works well together, so I’ll tackle how to acquire the armor set. You can get everything except for the chest and boots from Orr karma vendors. If you are rich, then you can buy the chest and boots off the tp for outrageous prices. Otherwise, you can run some dungeons. I wound up running HotW.
Rabid.
You can get 4 pieces from karma NPC’s. Or you can get all 6 from TA, and one other dungeon. The karma pieces are the fastest way, then get 2x TA pieces and transmute them if you want to keep a set for looks.
Chrysicola jewelery if you want to craft/buy, and later you can get rabid infusion items. Rings from Fractals, amulet from laurels, earrings from laurels and guild commendations. Rabid Backpieces can come from fractals, and you can forge an infused backpiece too.
You can get a full set of Rabid jewellery including the back piece from one of the Orr temples for Karma.
