So I’ve been playing for about a month and I’ve been running Kai’s shatter build. Thing is I die a lot and I’m looking for a build that has more survivability while I’m out and about because I do a lot of solo in PvE as my guild doesn’t do much in dungeons. I do events and what not. I’ve got full berserker’s gear with a soldiers back and two magic find accessories.

I really like my GS and use sword/focus ans my secondary.

So is there another build along those lines out there that has a bit more survivability for when I’m doing Orr that still has viability in groups?

And yes I have tried other builds but can’t find one that I like that puts out the DPS I’m used to.

A simple gear change might help while keeping the same build. Going to Knight’s would increase survivability, with a little dps decrease. Sometimes you have balance dps with your armor/vitality. The MF accessories aren’t doing you any favors for either dps or surviving – I’d replace those with something else while leveling.

I’m level 80 and I’ve been looking to replace those as i can get MF with food. I’ll look into Knights gear as an option.

Staff and phantasms makes life easy in Orr. You could almost play naked and still survive with that build.

Lose the MF on your gear (unless you already have Ascended Accessories). MF isn’t worth it and Anet is removing it from armour/weapons/jewelry anyways.

Yes I know I need to replace the MF. I’m just cheap and I’m not sure what ascended pieces I want to buy first.

I would hold off buying Ascended until Anet announces what they are going to replace MF with. Berserker’s Jewelry/Weapons & Knights Armour is a good start. You will want to have multiple armour/weapon sets anyways.

I have 7 sets or armour (2 x zerk, 1 knights, 2 rabid, 1 PvT, 1 mixed zerk/knights/valk) and almost 30 different weapons with multiple sets of mix/match jewelry. It’s cheaper to buy new armour than to salvage due to some rune/sigil costs these days.

I think MF is his goal for now, so let’s help him keep his MF and still survive in Orr. A monkey could survive without MF gear so no advice needed there.

imho, memser has it pretty easy with MF using certain builds like phantasm and staff (as the mez doesn’t get hit). Something like 10/0/0/30/30.

Right now I’m trying to build up my sets knowing I’ll need a few. I’ve got zerker’s and carrion x5 and 1 rampagers. I’d like to start doing a little Wx3 at some point but I know I’ll have to redo my traits for that. As far as weapons I’m building on those too.

I’m mainly looking for something to get me through till my guild does more dungeons and whatnot because I do mostly solo roaming.

@Juno MF is not my goal. I"m just saying if I want to go that way I can use food buffs for it.

Zerkers, Knights, Valk, Rabid and some PvT are popular stats for Mesmers. Don’t invest too much gold in Carrion/Rampagers, especially for WvW.

Also Condition damage is pretty weak for most of PvE.
