I’m pretty sure they changed the sound on Chaos Storm in the last living story release. It’s unlisted, so maybe I just haven’t been paying attention and its been around for a while…
What do you guys think of the new sound?
I presonally hate it, the timing is weird and it doesnt give me an “I just placed a Chaos Storm and alot of kitten is going to happen” feeling. I’m surprised there’s no thread yet :/. It really sounds more like a sci-fi lazor now or something x.x

I thought i used illusionary wave when i pressed 5 in a dungeon, so i panicked and quickly disengaged xD.

I haven’t noticed that. I HAVE noticed that chaos armor now has an additional sound to it that is the same sound as lupicus using his single target life drain in phase 3. I’ts very odd.
For me I doubt that the chaos storm sound is changed, more like bugged. I have bumped a thread in bug forums containing a lot of sound bugs for mesmer.
Chaos storm is one of them. Signets are a nother, I hear the player charge dialouge (Agony Torment Pain) – Mantra of pain on 1/4 or less 1/8 probably
But as we are mesmers… we are bound to be ignored for 7+months…

The Chaos Armor bug has been around since the scarlet release i think. I was actually on holiday before that time and noticed a really loud sound from chaos armor…
Auto targeting also changed while i was gone, but thats irrelevant. (And undocumented >_>)
Ill post a 10 seconds long video of the new sound tomorrow. really hoping its a bug and gets reverted :/.

Its not “changed”, its bugged since 4 patches. The old sound is missing, they confirmed it and they said 2 times now “next patch it will be fixed”… My search function bugs, anyone can search for my thread “chaosstorm sound”? :s
Its very annoying, since it was the 2nd best sound ingame >_>

Oh my globenheim! What the hell man?!?! That was my favourite sound in the game, those stupid beeps better change it back or I’m gonna smear them with faeces.
