New Mesmer in PvE
Dungeon focused but it goes over everything you need for PVE.

And build, well, you change it a LOT depending on the situation. It’s really a bad idea to stick to only one build.
If I were to stick to one thing it’d probably be something like this:

If you provided us with a little more information about your plans/goals I think you’ll find a lot more people would be interested in responding to your thread.
What mode of PvE? Dungeons/Mapping/Farming?
Do you have a preferred playstyle (Condi/power/hybrid/etc)? Is Optimal damage important to you?
Do you have budget?

Just a note though, Ineptitude is a double edge sword. Consider running by some mobs and then dodging their attack to avoid getting in combat… which triggers the trait and puts you in combat ;_;
I’ve come to hate that trait with a passion… :/

I hear ya, and good point. I’ve relied on it a bit doing my Arah carry runs, it’s nice when you don’t have other people blinding. The place it always catches me is the Lupi approach with that lone berserker, “why am I in combat I dodged right!” “ohh yeah”
And one other things, no need for ascended like I put in that, I just slapped it together fast, whatever rank it’s that style of gear that I’d go for. I like a good strong reflect, alternately berserker would work as well and may be cheaper/easier to get, and outside reflects yields better results.

Hijacking slightly…
Is there a good setup for tagging as many mobs as possible during random events while doing world completion?
Working on: Engineer
I’m just plain addicted to inspiration, it’s gonna be so hard giving it up for chrono, I’m even tempted to give up dueling instead and go for Dom/Inspiration/Chrono.

Dom + Dueling + X with GS + X
X= whatever your preference
Greatsword is definitely our best option for consistently tagging multiple targets. I normally take the GS trait for open world also to keep the cooldowns low (and the other two traits are kinda meh in PvE).
Also, dont be afraid to pop off your F1 and F2 if the target your attacking is about to die. Your clones are going to disappear anyways, so dont waste that extra AoE potential.

I’m with you there…I love the Inspiration line so much, and the Dueling GM traits are really meh for the PvE that I do. Taking Harmonious mantras almost forces me to take Pain Mantra to get some use out of the trait. I don’t use Deceptive Evasion at all and I am never the one interrupting so Mistrust wouldn’t see any use. Not that the other Sword traits aren’t amazing…but it sucks being left with a GM trait you really don’t care too much about.

Just to add, pain mantra, AE damage is nice.
