Guild Wars 2

Just some quick questions about the Mesmer as I have wanted to try it but had trouble getting into it. I have watched the videos from Youtube by MrPrometheus and found them useful. I have also done a lot of reading of guides.

I have levelled a Guardian, Elementalist and now a thief. I was playing the Ele with my husband but as he does not play as much and I wanted to play my Ele I’m now going to level a Memser to play with him (only 20 so it is not hard to catch up).

My husband is a GS Guardian DPS build, I wanted something to support him and it seems that I can do this with the Mesmer with the Staff and Chaos Armour, Boons and Condition Removal, though I know that there is no true support I want that to be a focus. The issue I’m having that while there are guides out there for the Mesmer I’m having issues finding a good guide for a support build, I can find them for other builds but very few for this build- or I’m looking in the wrong spot. Can someone here help me or link me a guide they know of- at least one that takes me to thirty when you start to get a real feel for the class? I have found guides that are conditions builds while with other classes a condition build is different to a support build I’m not so sure that this is the case with this class.

I think this is the heal heavy mantra spec, i think the idea is to use a staff, and focus on +healing + vitality, and + condition damage

I’ve toyed with the idea some and there are a few ways to support team mates, or husbands in this case.

Here’s an example

Since you’re paired with a GS Guardian, you can exploit frequent Leap finishers through your Chaos Storm and Feedback/Null Field, providing group-wide Chaos Armour. Beyond that, once you get to high levels, Shattered Strength will easily net you 18 stacks of Might, of which you can copy to other allies via Signet of Inspiration.

Alternatively, instead of going 20 into Chaos, you could go 20 into Inspiration, granting Regeneration through Phantasmal Healing, and projectile reflection with Warden’s Focus.

Thanks for the advice, from what I have read mantra builds are not great, have you tried it and had success? I might try it if it works.

I like the build Ojimaru posted but I’m torn between the two alternatives. I found all the combos you were talking about but where is null field- I know I heard it mentioned in the videos too.

I dont have the guts to spend the money on it yet =( I think with a lot of mantras up you would have a LOT of on demand healing. Though you may want to offset that spec some to access other buffs. It may be a terrible idea all together. Its just something i was contemplating trying

Null field is a skill for 6-9 slots, rips boons from foes and cures allies of conditions. You could use that with any spec, he is likely pointing you in the right direction of a good support mes tho =)
