New WvW Zerg build, looking for tweeks.
I personally wouldn’t use celestial on a mesmer but that’s just me. As for the weapons I find scepter to be only really useful in small fights. Torch is also meh unless ur running a condi burst build. I’d also replace mimic with feedback or nullfield. When ur defending something and a zerg tries to push through you can drop a nullfield to strip their stability in choke points xD. Feedback is also nice with condi build because reflected projectiles can put confusion on them.

I use sword more now, in my shatter spec, i just have my gear saved and forgot to change it out. But with sword and torch, with Ip i can usually run in and hit a very nice burst on someone. While in the zerg i stay in staff.
As for the glammours, I’ve gone that route over and over. My problem is, i find them very lack luster when I’m solo roaming. That’s why i’m trying something different. This has some potential to me, for solo roaming and zerging. My main concern is if the clone on deaths are going to compensate for the lack of shatters getting to my targets in wvw.
I’ll be running this the next few nights, and report back my findings.
Hi, your spec miss a bit in condition remuval in WvsW could be a problem. For zerg situation i dont like so much scepter/torch (just a mine impression) i prefer a power spec with weapon that can support ally and do aoe damage.
This spec http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fgAQNAW8dlwzqqHVTmGb9IiJFEHyd6BztcTXJF82FC-jEzAYLIMWgpIwkFICDQyTZNBKI2GKiGreBTdOkaNMk3gIrWIAzLAA-w , its really similar at mine team build’s just a bit more defensive. I think that in a big inc the biggest contribution of a mesmer is given from nullfield/chaos storm and nullfield. This is a full power spec but you have a chance to do your damage and then retreet in the back lines in a safety with staff teleport or blink.
As i said to the first poster, I’ve gone down the glamour route. was trying something different. I’ve been focusing on really mastering my shatters. And i use sword and torch for 1v1 scenarios, or small groups with my guild or friends. staff for zerging.
As for condition removal. Between my torch, and my sigil of generosity on my staff i do ok. When i was full glammours i ran remove condition on heal, and i do miss that.

You mentioned zerg build hence why I recommended glamours, you can always switch your utilities when ur not zerging.

Don’t get me wrong! i really appreciate anyone who takes the time to read my stuff. And i thank you for your advice. Plus me leaving sword out of the build was my mistake, since i’m not using the scepter atm. I was just more looking for what people thought on the idea of using shatters into a zerg, kind of like launching missiles. Or helping me tweek that idea, rather then giving me something completely different.
